Well, it's not that anyone is really hating on you. Just, honestly, when you brush a few letter in MSPaint do you really expect people to come back with an "OMFG YOU'RE A GOD OF ART" comment? No. Posts in the Art Room, Open Book, Photography, and Other Works section are very often exposed to criticism, and often the case is that the replies will vary according to the effort put into a piece. When a post is seen in the above said sections, it is almost immediately open for review and comments, as is the norm for posting anything in an art section, anywhere. So, if you don't really want remarks of a negative nature either: A. Don't post it, B. Label saying you don't want critiques, or C. Post it in a section that isn't prone to constant analysis. So again, it's not that anyone is attacking or bashing you, it's just the nature the section, as it does on almost all forums I've ever encountered, will hold due to the content.

Just because it's in MSPaint, doesn't mean it's art. I can type in Photoshop and it's still just text. Unless it's a poem, I'd post it in TWPR.

Honestly, they're not against you, well Sage may be, he scares me at times, but none the less, make yourself fit in. When I first came to VT NO ONE spoke to me. AT ALL. They wouldn't even give me this much of a reply now. I was ignored. Only Paula spoke to me and she kept me here on VT. Finally I caught the hang of VT and it's general flow and made myself pop-out. I'm still a rather unknown member, hell, all I've got going for me is my artwork. And no one said you did anything wrong by posting it here, it's just a remark.

Not all remarks in life are pleasant- but the hurtful ones, so I've found, are usually what help us to better ourselves, that is, if we apply them in a beneficiary way.

I don't think you should be taking anything personally. It's not often that people post artwork on this forum (compared to poetry, at least) and while I certainly have an opinion of everything posted, I usually keep it to myself. Art, in all forms, is subjective, and criticism has its place- but that's not the issue here. I'm not judging what you posted by its own qualities- I'm judging it by the effort put in.

That's the problem here. All you had to do was open paint, choose two colors, and type a sentence. That doesn't take a lot of effort. If you had taken a sheet of paper and sat down with a pencil in hand, you could draw one of the most abysmal drawings- but it would still give people something to comment on, because you actually worked hard on it.

That's why you're receiving negative attention. There's nothing for people to comment on. It's just text.

I'll use my art as an example. When I started with Photoshop, I went for about a year and half constantly being told that my artwork was shit. Yes, this hurt. It hurt like hell, but I applied it to my artwork and constantly strove to improve. And no, I'm not a known member. A good portion of my posts are from my sig thread only, on top of that, my rep is from high-powered members. I'm not so known.
Yes, I remember when you came to VT. And do you want to know why the mocked you for your name? Your username is the first impression your give people. Honestly, I view people who have xXsomething.oranotherXx, blahblah(random numbers), or usernames that aren't capitalized as generic, run of the mill people. The xX I personally associate with attention whores. Numbers I see as nothing useful, and not capitalizing are just morons. (Except deadpie.) Why Origami? Aside from knowing the art of Origami, it expresses my artistic side, yet it's not "aRtB0y938" or some shit. You see?

If you have a problem with them saying you don't know what you're talking about, then change that. Make yourself prominent enough for the to stop doubting you.
