Due to my inner metal fan alter ego (being a metal-crazed lunatic back in the day, I can't escape from it lol) I really can't wait for Children Of Bodom's new album - which is Relentless Reckless Forever. For those who are interested, it's being released on the 8th March. Rumour has it they're playing at Download this year. I'm praying this will end up being true lol. <3
As for the non-metal (well, kind of) Everytime I Die are releasing a new album near summer 2011 I hear, yay. I also would have also mentioned Architects if I posted this thread like a few weeks ago, but I already have their new album now (The Here And Now). :3
You guys?

KISS is making a new album which I'm quite excited about. There's been rumored solo albums by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora (the guitarist from Bon Jovi) though I'm not planning on those being released this year, as their tour doesn't end until very late July.

Oh god, Children of Bodom are still going? They should've realised after Blooddrunk that they were deteriorating. Their keyboard player really is a beast though. But I don't listen to metal anymore...
Arctic Monkeys, basically.
Humbug was shit. Their new album will be too. Their first two albums were amazing, though.
As for me... 'Last Night On Earth', by Noah And The Whale. Hopefully a fourth Zutons album.

I personally liked Blooddrunk. It caused a hell of a lot of controversy though (but not as much as Are You Dead Yet...jeeze). People that have been listening to them for so long were probably disappointed in the change of style. I prefer their mid to recent stuff. I don't care for their very old stuff.

What controversy? I must have missed it D:
Are You Dead Yet was by far their best album (besides Hate Crew Deathroll). I don't like their older stuff as much as their mid-to-recent, I'll admit, but there were only like two or three endurable tracks on in Blooddrunk.
But despite everything, their keyboard player is fucking beast. :D

It was basically just avid long term Bodom fans going crazy over the alterations in the style of music they play, and saying things like "Bodom are going down the shitter". A lot of fans were beginning to turn against them during Hate Crew Deathroll (and that was one of their greatest albums IMO).
I really don't like Something Wild and Hatebreeder (their oldest albums which were made in the late 90's) whilst hardcore fans would worship these. Are You Dead Yet is one of my favourites too. Blooddrunk on a whole wasn't their best, but there are several tracks on there that I would consider some of my favourite Bodom songs. A lot of the album did consist of fillers I guess.
Yep, that Janne Wirman is somethin' else. :)

Thanks for all the wonderful feedback regarding my new solo record! Sorry, but Cut Ribbon once again failed to make the cut - although the 12 tracks / 84 minutes of music I've selected for the main release is quite eclectic, it has in common a pretty organic feel, mostly inspired by the darker end of vintage progressive music and some movie soundtrack stuff (Morricone especially). The sound palette is made up of things like strings, choir, woodwinds, mellotron, organ, piano, fender rhodes, jazz drums, and warmer guitar tones, so the shiny metal attack of Cut Ribbon just doesn't fit. But the track is all mixed and finished and sounds good, so I'll find somewhere to release it. Definitely the album will come out on double vinyl too. Love the new Radiohead album! Here's another still from the work in progress films Lasse is working on to include on the blu-ray version of the album.
Sorry, but Steven Wilson's next solo album is easily going to be 2011 AOTY.

The only real reason I listen to TCV is because of Homme. Grohl is a good drummer, but nowhere near some of the others in the business. Still, it gets through the songs.

New Radiohead album was meh. I think they've taken the entire experimentation period a bit too far now.

What disappoints me is that Grohl is staying busy with Foo Fighters. Then again, Homme is staying busy with QOTSA. Guess you really can't blame the both of them for wanting to work so much.
