Just curious, do your parents let you have a lock on your bedroom door? I dont have one and I've asked a few times because my family has a hard time with privacy, but they are very against having locks on bedroom doors. What is your situation?

Nope, wouldn't be allowed and don't want one tbh.
My parents would just think I was drinking and doing drugs or... other things like that. :P

I have on on my room, I only lock it when I go out though. Any other time I'm usually in my room.

I have a lock but have no idea where the key is :P
Honestly, I don't need to. My room is big and when you enter, you have to walk 2-3 steps before seeing the rest of the room ( it is like the corridor continues ) so I'll have a lot of time to zip up my pants, close "stuff" on my pc, etc :D

My bedroom doesn't have a lock. It doesn't even close properly. But I guess I don't need one anyway. Though it would come handy in some situations...

I used to have a lock, my parents took it off when i tried to commit suicide because they didn't feel they could trust me. Im still in the process of trying to get it back

No, our doors have locks, but usually nobody here goes into each others room, or invades other peoples privacy. We trust each other. So we don't use them. We don't even close our doors.

strangely I did when I was between about 12 and leaving my dads, I didn't use them much though, my cousins bust them open a few times so they lost effect

I dont have a lock on my door, to be honest though I always leave my door open unless if I'm listening to loud music. My mum would be suspicious if I started shutting my door all the time probably.

I have a lock. I only use it if I'm getting changed or other uhm things :p.
Then there's the time when I don't want to be bothered and lock it.
But otherwise it's locked. And my door is pretty much always shut. Especially when I'm sleeping.

Mine does. To be honest, I thought something like that would be standard hardware when a house is built.

I can but if im in there with the door locked for no reasons they get suspicious, and since im a 16 year old boy i understand why lol

No. I had one on my door when I was around 8, but my brother got mad and broke it. :P

I don't really care tbh. My mom knocks and I don't really have anything to hide. I'm usually in the living room anyways. No reason to need a lock on my door.

I have one, which has been replaced due to my Dad kicking the door open because I was swearing too much whilst gaming. I don't lock my door at all, don't really see the point.

I don't have a lock, nor have I ever asked for one, nor do I need one.

If you want to open my door, you have to twist the knob 3 times, and push with your hip near the picture. Just the way things work around here. I never have my door all the way closed though, it's too much of a pain to open it. :P Plus it doesn't allow the heat to come in, and I like my door opened!

I used to, in my old apartment, but I don't now.
Even then I didn't use it often, only when I was doing some *ahem* "private business". But that was when I had my own room.

Yeah my family have a problem with privacy too Dx They just walk in and out of my room and it drives me crazy. But if I locked my room and my parents didnt know where I was, or if I fainted, or if there was a fire and I already passed out etc etc they wouldn't be able to get into me. It's for your safety xP

Yeah but it's broken lol... I just sleep with my door open anyways lol. My guitar room (where I spend most of my time), however, has a perfectly good lock on it...

Nope no lock. I don't spend much time in my bedroom, so there's no need for one really.

I do, but I don't use it since it'd seem suspicious if I were. :P

No, my door is solid hardwood, with out a lock. Plus my parents always knock anyway. Because my room is the last bedroom down the hall, i used to do my "mans buisness" with the door open so that i could hear anyone coming in. I never got caught

I want a lock on my door. I feel I have no privacy whatsoever and it makes me feel very uncomfortable.

I have no lock. I didn't have a door until about two years ago either (My dad kicked it down when the room belonged to my older sister).

I've got one on my bedroom door. I don't ever use it though. My parents hardly ever come upstairs anyways and I can hear the stairs creak if they do.
