If you don't know who I am talking about, he is a BBC Radio 1 presenter who is gay. He made a documentary for BBC Three in which he goes to Uganda to experience homophobia for himself. “I went to Uganda with the aim of making a fair and balanced film but in two weeks, we couldn’t find any [non-gay] person saying that homosexuality was okay.” They all thought homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. “It’s all wrapped up in Christianity and evangelicalism,” Mills added. He even went to a witch doctor who tried to cure him for both premature ejaculation and HOMOSEXUALITY!!!! Totally barbaric views on a great subject.
In Uganda, A leading political figure is trying to introduce an anti-homosexuality bill. This contains a death penalty for people whom commit multiple "crimes" (e.g. have sex with more than 2 men). This shows a prejudiced view of most in of Uganda.
What are your views on this? I know my views, and as a gay bloke this sickens me to the skin. IT IS NOT A LIFESTYLE CHOICE!!!

Well firstly I did NOT know he way gay, quite surprised. Secondly, I agree with what you said. Sexuality is not a choice, ever. People do not choose to be straight, people do not choose to be gay.

I'm gay so of course I am against the ideas of the bill they are trying to pass there, so those would be my views. I've heard about this situation in Uganda recently and honestly it's just completely ridiculous. David Kato, who was an LGBT activist and teacher in Uganda, was bludgeoned to death with a hammer in his home by two men. Only a few months before that, his name along with 100 others were published in a Ugandan newspaper signaling executions for them because of their sexuality.
Quote from Wikipedia (reliable sources were linked at the page): "According to reports in the New York Times and the Sydney Morning Herald, questions are being raised about the murder being linked to Kato's sexuality. Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have both called for an in-depth and impartial investigation into the case, and for protection for gay activists. James Nsaba Buturo, the Ugandan Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity, is on record as having declared that 'Homosexuals can forget about human rights'"
It's a complete horrid thought that their country runs on those harsh fundamentals and have the idea that a person can be changed.

I've never heard of this show but it sounds like a good one to look out for. Is it just me though or whenever you see radio stars on tv your like what?! That's not him, is it? :P

Africa has a way to go, we all know that. As I believe strongly that while people don't choose to be gay, it is down to environmental factors, I think there is likely a far lower percentage of homosexuality in Uganda. Obviously the statistics will show this, as those who come out fact death, but yeah.

I knew who Scott Mills was, I listen to his radio show, he plays some good house music.
Different countries have different laws, they have a law against homosexuality, they have their reasons, mostly due to religion.

They are completely brainwashed by their religion. It's so sad. So ignorant.

I hadn't realised that Scott Mills was gay. Kind of makes me feel better about being gay because he's not like that annoying stereotype that I don't want to be prejudged as when I do eventually come out.
But yeah, like Easted94 said, they've been brainwashed and they know no better. Pretty horrific they'd impose something like a death penalty in relation to this stuff.
