I know it's an official release. I just don't want spoilers. Reading the upcoming Vogue article, Elton John called it the 'gayest song' he ever heard. And for him that's saying something. I can wait until May 23rd because I have patience. Gaga is worth waiting for.

Just realized how much of a joke you are.
It's like people saying, "Oh I hate all pop music except Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga" or the hipsters saying "I hate all rap except Kanye West becaue pitchfork likes them."
What makes her so different than all the rest of the pop stars in terms of music? She doesn't seem any bit different to me with her style of pop.

Unlike most of her fans, I think I'm one of the .01% that doesn't say she's different in any way. The only reason I listen to her is because it's pleasing to my ear. I'm not going to be some drooling fag fanboy who constantly raves how amazing she is. She's the modern day Madonna, nothing more.

How so? Seriously, what makes her different then any other pop star? It's mainly what she dresses like and whatnot that gives her that boost of fame to make her stand out more then the others, but minus that, she isn't that much different.

I think you're forgetting that I never said she was different. I'm not raving over her, but I'm not totally against her either. She does sound like all other pop artists out there today, and that doesn't surprise me. Her attitude right now reminds me very much of Madonna. People call her 'different' and out of the norm. I honestly think it's all gone to her head and she's doing what she wants for attention. It wouldn't surprise me if that's been her plan all along.

So if someone likes Lady Gaga and no other pop star, that's stupid, because they all sound the same anyways. It's like if you like her you should like the rest because they all sound exactly the same.

No, you're not the only one.Pop forums are filled with people bashing the song.
How so? Seriously, what makes her different then any other pop star?
I would say that what sets her apart is that she can sing and play an instrument while she is not so good at dancing, and the way she has created this persona of "I'm f-ing famous, get off my way" even before she had actually succeeded (Which Madonna kind of did, but in a different way- I guess) and the way she has related to her fans.
It's just my opinion, though. I may be wrong.

I disagree. But even if they all sounded the same, people are attracted to pop-stars because of their personality/attitude., or the themes of their songs, etc.

Your implying she's the only pop star that has succeeded while doing something controversial. And her music really means nothing to me. The themes aren't interesting and it's just fucking boring. Seriously, I'm bored as fuck if I have to listen to her music. It's not interesting to me at all.
Personality/attitude outside of music isn't music. Dressing strange isn't music. None of those things make her a talented musician because they aren't relevant to music.

I'm a fan of Lady Gaga. I've heard it on her fb page and the Grammys, and so far I'm not impressed. It's repetitive and sounds like a generic club tune. I like some of the lyrics, they're a little clever, but personally I think Firework is a better anthem.

I wasn't implying that. Many stars have succeeded in a controversial way, but the ways are differents, the controversial things about Gaga are not the same that Madonna's or Kesha's.
If your music means nothing to you and is boring, you can listen to anything else. All musical tastes are valid to me, even if I don't share them.
Pop is not all about the music, (and rock sometimes isn't either). Pop has always been about the artist (Britney plays sexy, Kesha plays crazy party girl, etc) and specially with Gaga and Madonna, about the visuals.

Pop music is just that, pop music. Pop culture is a different thing and implies the music, the art, the visuals, etc. For example, Madonna's famous conical bra is not part of pop music but it's part of pop culture.Warhol,Madonna, Gaga, and Britney are embodiments of pop culture.

How the FUCK does Andy Warhol become categorized with Britney Spears and Madonna? His work wasn't a positive message for pop culture, but very much so a negative message to it. How is Lady Gaga influenced by him? I really don't get that at all.
He was ten times as creative as those plastic fucking Barbie dolls ever could be. His ideas went beyond and he opened people up to not only a new style of art, but film too. He was probably one of the best experimental film makers there ever was. And his shit still is pretty important for the community of art and film.

If you read what I wrote my point was about pop culture and about being "multi-field". Warhol had standard-lenght films, short films, portraits, ideas, a concept and even a particular social group (The Warhol's superstars-Candy,etc). What I tried to say is that pop isn't "just the music".
Nothing to say about 2nd paragraph.
I said that Gaga was influenced by Warhol. It's just a few videos reminescent of the Chelsea Girls/Nico, of Lou Reed, and the dyptich and some other little things.

Andy Warhol wasn't pop culture. He was underground when he was alive.

When he was alive. His work not so much though (maybe his films), I wouldn't call the diptych underground.
You need to get more subjective in your opinion, you did it right with the "it all sounds the same to me". If you find it "dull and boring", alright but you're lacking the subjectiveness, because it's that way for you and a different way for other people.
You asked me to link Gaga to Warhol, so I did. And it "matters" because you were like "how do you relate Gaga to Warhol?" and that was the answer. (I also think Warhol would have found Gaga amusing, but I never knew him so you may as well ignore this)

You never answered how he is in anyway like her. And you never linked them together. So no, you did nothing.
It's subjective enough and straight to the point. I don't like any pop music because it's fucking dull, boring, and sounds the same. There's not any difference I hear between Gaga and Kesha or Beyonce and Rihanna. They all sound the same and they've never done anything that makes them seem much different in the quality of making there music. Note I'm talking about the music, not pop culture. THE FUCKING MUSIC. That's what I'm talking about here. That's what's important to me.
And it's a different way for other people because the majority of those people haven't listened to anything outside of the radio. That's why.
