This has really made me frustrated, Every thread I start reading I get to the end it's LOCKED!
Reason: Don't bump old threads.
Ok since when did a couple months old thread become OLD an irrelevant for people to discuss.

These threads are for help and advice, not general discussion. Its assumed that after a time has passed the OP has either had their question answered or has found their own way of dealing with it.

Threads have a 2 month bump limit, polls have 3 months. This was put into effect because it makes the forum look more organized. The original Poster may bump their thread and keep it alive as long as it isn't spam. The bumping is to make sure that threads that are current are seen or replied to. That way the people that come here for help as well as to ask questions get their thread seen. Seeing as how this forum is especially large it makes it more of a problem if there were no "old thread" locks. There would be threads from 2004 until now, that wouldn't be good because they are either no longer here, or it's been so long that they either figured it out or they had their question answered. Overall it's better for the community.

Since this site was a help site. If a person starts a thread asking for help, how could you posting months after the thread has died possibly help them? It can't. So we don't allow it, to keep things orderly. If you want to discuss something that you found an old thread about, post a new one. That's completely allowed. In fact, you could post something like "blah blah blah, so I was reading this thread (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1183253) and it got me thinking..." or whatever, you just can't post in old threads. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out.
