Noise rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise_rock) describes a style of post-punk rock music that became prominent in the 1980s and 90s. ~ Wiki

Noise Rock is a vague term that has been used to encompass a wide range of bands which favour dissonance, wild feedback and extreme distortion in the context of Rock music. ~ Rate Your Music

Edit: As you can clearly see, not all of these noise rock songs are from strictly noise rock artists.

Since grunge is a type of noise rock (according to wiki) I'm posting accordingly. Also, Territorial Pissings.

Gorillaz isn't noise rock. What the fucking fuck?

Grunge is inspired from noise rock, but isn't completely noise rock. Why the hell is Unkle in this thread? Why is Nine Inch Nails in this thread? Industrial metal =/= Noise rock.

Sorry, but....What the fucking hell?

I'm not posting songs that are just from classic noise rock bands, I'm also posting noise rock songs from artists that are normally from other genres or songs that are heavily influenced/similar to noise rock. I do this in all of my threads.

I suggest posting noise rock songs by noise rock artists. You're not introducing people to anyone new or anyone that makes that certain type of music if you're posting bands that only have a few songs like the genre. Get where I'm going?

And stop posting Grunge, please. Take that to a different thread Commander Awesome. Like, even if AJ's post was really good, then you still would of ruined the thread. Yes, I'm saying the thread is ruined in my opinion because you posted grunge. And of course you have to post Nirvana, just like you used to do with Pink Floyd. Come on dude. We get the point.

Fuck. Just fuck.

Chill man, I don't have anything else to contribute to this thread. It's not like I'm going to spam this thread with grunge. I have to admit I don't have much I'd consider "noise rock" in my library. Besides, I don't see the point in making another thread for grunge, since it's a pretty narrow genre anyway.

Also

>implying I post a lot about Nirvana

This is probably the first thread I've posted Nirvana in that wasn't asking "what's your favorite band and song?" That doesn't count diaries, of course.

Of course diaries count.

Now you should see the list for Pink Floyd! Not going to post it though.

If you don't have anything to contribute, don't contribute.

Like I said, in my music threads I've always included songs that had the same style or were heavily influnced by it. And even if you still want to restrict everything to the specific 80/90s bands that pioneered the style...you still have to acknowledge that even the styles/genres within those bands varied.

Yeah, but you should be including more Noise Rock bands then bands that have played a few songs that are noise rock. Why? That should be really obvious. I'll answer that question anyways though, in case everyone is missing it. Because a thread about Noise Rock should have Noise Rock artists.

The only one that revolves around that genre is Sonic Youth.

I don't have a problem with including some of those songs. I'm still showing music that I think is good, interesting and that most people here still haven't heard. That's normally how I make a music thread.

The Swans
The Pixies
Dinosaur Jr.

aren't noise rock? They were some of the most influential bands for that style of music. There's absolutely no reason for such an incredibly strict use of the term.

Post Punk and Noise Rock aren't completely the same. And it's just Swans by the way. Sorry to get picky on that, but that's just how I am.

Dinosaur Jr. is more grunge than noise rock.

Pixies? No.

I also enjoyed this. Not so much the grunge, Nirvana's never been my thing. But Volatile and deadpie's contributions were great. More music to check out.
