Actually no. I'm sort of the opposite. :P.
I prefer some of the classic convertible, muscle cars, of the 50s and 60s.
Mustangs and Camero's were once classic cars too.

I love the older cars more than newer cars. I absolutely adore old mustangs. I really can't stand newer ones.. I mean, they're nice. But.. eh. I'd choose an older one over a newer one any day.

The modern Camaro is pretty nice if you're a massive douchebag.

Older cars were made better and honestly had better performance. I would rather have a car made out of steel than a car made out of thinner and weaker metals and plastics. The new muscle are more sporty if anything. The only modern muscle car I truly enjoy any more is the challenger as it keeps its origins.

I agree that older cars DEFINATELY had better make. They were actually made with lasting materials which still, to this day, withstand everything, but the idea that they have better performance is a load of bull. The newer cars today are far more efficient with gas milage and pulution, and they have better torque and better speed, and a lot more horsepower. The "American Muscle" cars might be able to stand the closest to new cars, but they'd still be left out in the dust. The only reason old sports cars might be able to stay with new ones is if they had their engine replaced with a NEW one.

I think when he says old, he means 60's/70's.
Personally, I like a lot of the old muscle cars. Someday, when I'm older and if I have the time, money, resources, and knowledge, I will restore an older car. Or if no time, resources, or knowledge, I'd at least love to own one. Just because it is a piece of American history that is instantly recognizable. And I like the retro look, as do a lot of people; that's why the new Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers are styled after their predecessors.
Of course, I would buy a new car first, just for practicality and reliability.

I hate them too. I hate anything old. When my parents or school force me to see plays with 1900s backdrops like Annie or whatever it gives me nightmares.

No, I love old and vintage cars. From early 40s to the late 80s. The reasons has already have been stated.

Yeah they are made with better thicker steel which dents less easy I guess. But it also adds a crap ton of weight which causes crap gas and excessive body roll in any kind of turn! Dont forget the lack of crumple zones, airbags, A/C in most or any kind of luxury whatsoever. Plus your under the hood every couple thousand miles adjusting valve timing, changing spark plugs and adjusting the carburetter. If you ever drive a completely original GTO judge or Oldmobile 442 in anything other then a straight line you will find are not what you might think! Do yourself a favor and get any muscle car thats fuel injected. Or forgo the need for something American and get any vintage M5!

Vintage cars are an acquired taste, imo i love everything about them. I love their no compromise styling, and here i come engine note, i love the feeling of having my guts hit my spine when i hit the pedal and i love hearing a big block V8 roar.... its honestly an acquired taste. I grew up in an american muscle family so its just something i've lived with for most of my life, give me a '67 Shelby Cobra originally over any car today... that beast smokes a ferrari on the quarter mile and looks damn sexy doing it... or even better a '64 Shelby Daytona Coupe and i'll guarantee it will get more looks than a brand new lambo

My dad owned a '75 Corvette, sexy ass car and fast to. Classics are way better than new cars, new cars have no originality at all.

I don't give a shit about gas mileage if I have a nice car. It's worth it to drive a fucking sexy car.

um do you even know what your talking about? because the gto had the first a/c and the reason the don't need crumple zones is because they are made of STEEL i know first hand the frame on a 65 GTO has a 3/8 inch thick c-beam that will not bend unless you heat it up and bend it with a mandrel bender i had to fix the frame after it twisted coming off the line because the 760ft/lbs of torque warped it

all the things you pointed out are pretty good points but body roll isn't necisarily a bad thing if you know how to handle your car and working on your car is part of growing up and learing how to do something other than pay someone else to do it

I can not stand old cars. anything pre 1995 makes me feel sick!
I love the new cars, I love the gadgets inside, the shapes, everything.
Could not be seen in anything old, I think that I would much rather walk!

My dad has an old mustang..and correct me if I'm wrong..but both the new mustang and the new camaro are basically new versions of the 60's models..the mustang is based on the 68 and 69 mustang and the camaro is based on the 67 and 68 models (got info from dad)..so where's your argument?

I am in the automotive lust when an old MG rolls thrrough, even more so when a 1930s staff car cruises by. I love the 60's and 70's British Sports cars, I even own one, But prewar is where my heart longs

Nope I'm just the opposite :P I like the 60's and early 70's Muscle & pony cars.
Muscle cars were based on mid sized cars with full size car drivetrains
Chevelles, Lemans, Fairlane, Torino, Belvedere, Coronet
Pony cars have long hoods and short decks like :
Mustangs & Cougars
Camero & Firebird
Challengers & Cudas
If it wasn't for these old cars there would not be new Mustangs, Cameros, and the Challengers

I think old cars look a lot better than most new cars. However, for aesthetics, European classics (E.g. Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar etc.) look a lot better than the American counter-parts

Well I'm not into the american car scene. i would much rather have a nissan skyline gtr r34 imported from japan. But I think the new mustangs look like trash. The Challenger looks cool though. i'm alright with the new camaro. I wouldnt really love to have one.

I'm not a fan either. There's always tons of car shows around here, and I think the old cars look like shit. Newer cars are so much nicer looking.

I love Mopars from late 60s to early and mid 70s... when cars looked badass, had POWER and they had real craftsmanship in them. People would actually work on them for more power, you can tune it up at home not plug it into a computer! Cars today except for a few are all cookie cutter, have low horsepower... im talking about cars NOT trucks. Trucks today are great! I prefer older Mopar to today Mopar mostly and cars.

Well it really depends on what you mean by "old". If you mean 10-15 years ago, then yes. I have a strong dislike to cars in that age range. However, if you are looking at the 1950-70 range of sports and muscle cars, then I love them. Not sure if I would buy one, but they do make good desktop pictures. :)
