This is the first 2.5 scenes of my script of the girl who drugs her parents to death. Maybe if people see what I write it will be taken more seriously.
INT. Samantha's room
Samantha walks into her room. she puts her book bag on her chair. Then her cell phone rings. It is a text message from her mother, Jean, who asks if she has gotten home. Samantha rolls her eyes with disgust and texts her with the words "Yes, mother." Then she gets another text message from her dad, Ken asking the same thing. She texts back, "Yes, I am home. I understand the rules. I must come directly home after school, and I cannot go anywhere without without my at least one of my brothers with me." Samantha turns off her phone and lies down on her bed. She looks with a sad face at her wall with various academic trophies on it. She gets and looks at her acceptance letter from Columbia University, and smiles.
Samantha
At least, soon I will finally be free.
Int. The Kitchen
Samantha walks down stairs into the kitchen, where Jean is pouring coffee into a mug. Ken walks in and kisses her. Her twin brother Cal is eating cereal. Samantha begins frying and egg on the stove.
SAMANTHA
You know today is the day we find out who the valedictorian is.
jean
Oh, I bet its gonna be my little girl.
Ken
Yep, you have been the number one student ever since middle school.
SAMANTHA
Yes, at least if I am valedictorian, I will have something good to remember about high school.
ken
What is that supposed to mean?
Samantha turns off the stove and puts her egg on her plate.
SAMANTHA
Well, it's just that I have never had any fun on my own. I always have to go places with my brothers. Why don't you trust me to go places by myself?
jean
Samantha, honey, we have already told you this. Girls are more vulnerable.
ken
Ken walks to Samantha puts his hands on her shoulder and kisses her forehead.
It would kill me if anything happened to you. You're my only daughter.
SAMANTHA
I can take care of myself. I have always done everything that you told me to do.
JEAN
I'm sorry, Samantha. But you are not safe by yourself. I wish it was different, but that's just the way it is.
Samantha walks to the table and picks up her backpack.
SAMANTHA
Come on, Cal, let's go.
Cal gets up, puts his plate in the sink, grabs his backpack, and walks with Samantha out the door.
EXt. neighborhood daytime
Samantha and Cal are walking to school
SAMANTHA
Why are they so scared for me? I have shown them time and time again that I can protect myself, but they just won't see it.
cal
I feel you. It is annoying to have to take you everywhere you need to go.
SAMANTHA
I know. It is so sexist that just because I am girl I have to depend on a boy to protect me.
