Anyone know how to make arm warmers? I need to for winter and summer so I can hide scars. I need to make some lace ones for Saturdays' dance. Any specific fabrics to suggest?

I'm your new (new) best friend then :)

I sew. Everything. Halloween/cosplay costumes, my own fingerless gloves/arm warmers. Heh :)

You'll want stretchy fabric. As long as it's stretchy (in both ways. Some fabric only streches one way) you can get pretty much anything.

I find it really hard to find fabric like that. So what I do, I go to thrift stores and get a shirt for $2 with a design I like ex. black and white stripes were my most recent pair. In this case, just use the sleeves and make them about one fourth to one half the size (depending on the size of the arms of the shirt and how big your own arms are) and just sew them so they fit around your arm, except leave a thumbhole. The easiest way, anyway. I make some from scratch as well, but with how much sewing you have to do to get it the perfect size I would only recommend doing that if you have a machine if you want it an exact size. I screw up by milimeters and it bothers the crap out of me :P

idranktheseawater has a great arm warmer tutorial on her channel here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OTGy72tjTA).

Rith, gave a good method.

I would just take some old socks, and be creative about it. Make finger holes. But that's if you want to take the hippie path.
