I want to transfer some docs and pics from my old laptop to this laptop, and I am using a flashdrive...

I thought I would know what to do, but it seems like now I don't

So I insert the flash drive in the old laptop, I go to Computer. I WAS assuming it was Removable disc E, but when I clicked on it, it said I had to insert a disc or whatever...

I copied the docs and pics in that drive but it doesn't work. I checked to see what kind of flash drive I was using so I could transfer my things to there. Turns out it doesn't appear there :/

How do I transfer docs and pics by flash drive then? I don't want to email them to myself, that takes too long

Have you tried plugging it into different usb ports? How old is the flashdrive? Maybe it got damaged.

Personally, I'd just use the network to transfer the files, but if you really wish to use a flash drive;
Check to make sure the drivers installed properly. (In Device Manager(devmgmt.msc), make sure the flash drive doesn't have a "!" or "?" next to it).
If it is installed properly, make sure it was assigned a drive letter, if not, assign one to it (In Disk Management(diskmgmt.msc), see if there's a letter next to it, if not, right click it, then "Change Drive Letters and Paths", and give it a letter.)

If that doesn't work, check to make sure the flash drive actually works by plugging it into another computer.

I'm going to try a new flash drive to see if that works. I'm thinking this flash drive I used is damaged
