I FINALLY got my PS3 Slim today. I really wanted was the 80gb 4 usb backwards compatible one, but no gamestops had any used or refurbished. That version fit my taste a little bit more. But oh well.

So I got dead space 2 and Saw 7 on Blu Ray. I can't wait to watch saw 7. I've been playing dead space for a few hours and it is sooo awesome.

And I still have my Wii which I will NEVER give up.

My concern about the ps3 is that will it leave burn ins on the tv im using? The tv I have is (I think but not too sure) a hd plasma screen. If a burn in occurs, my dad will literally flip shit and I would have to use it on the non hd tv.

I read that a cure for burn ins is leave the tv on for a few hours on a channel that produces salt and pepper (white and black fuzz or white noise.)

That is just a concern and I would like if someone can tell me if that cure is true or if someone can give me some other ways to fix a burn in if it occurs. I do not want to see this tv get ruined and have my dad explode.

Overall, I am extremely happy that I finally have the ps3 that I've been longing for a few years.

Why should it burn ?

Like if a game stays still for a while, the image could burn into the tv. Like if you paused it and after a while the image will burn into it. Its most likely to happen to a plasma, which is what I have, at least I think. And I paused dead space 2 for a while and after I unpaused it, I saw a little bit of the pause screen still there. Its gone now but could be worse or permanent.

Just don't leave the TV on while you leave a game on pause for a long time. There's no harm in turning off the TV while the PS3 is still running.

Thanks :) I kind of thought of that after I saw the temporary burn. I have the tv off right now as my playstation is updating some things.
