Do you know if you can have pokémon follow you still? I'll only get it if I can walk around with my pokémon. I hated Diamond and Pearl, boring and with the new pokémon and such. SoulSilver and HeartGold were awesome, since it was a long-needed remake. No new pokémon. But I could run around with my Vaporeon following me ^_^

Though I hate the new pokémon, I'll give 3-D graphics game a chance if pokémon can follow you.

It reminds me of the N64 games. I loved how realistic they were compared to the GBA games. (Yeah, I'm a purist when it comes to my childhood obsessions)

In certain parts of the game Pokemon do follow you, yes and no.
Even though they don't always follow you I still think you should give it a try at least.

My only concern has always been that starting from Generation IV... they stopped looking like pokémon if you know what I mean :/

Sapphire and Ruby didn't bother me nearly as much as Diamond and Pearl. I think it's just nostalgia, Sapphire being my first ever game. It just seems like they're trying too hard on the pokémon when their best ones were quite simple.

I can't wait until they come out, the newer graphics alone looks orgasmic, and from what little I've read of the plot line, it's a bit different, mostly with the antagonist group.

I do agree with Rith that the pokemon are getting less and less like 'pokemon' though, so that's a bit disappointing.

Nonetheless, like a true pokefag, I HAVE to get the new version when it comes out, lol

As good as the game looks, I'm actually pretty concerned that it'll be more of the same thing a la Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which turned me off the two previous main Pokemon games. The trailers looks to change some things up, which is always a good thing, but I'm not sold yet on buying it. Will wait to get a Nintendo 3DS (Which is backward compatible with Nintendo DS titles, mind you) and see if it's worth getting.

I don't think originality is the term we're looking for. I think charm is a better term. Gen IV and V lack a certain charm that Gen I-III had. Soul Silver and Heart Gold, like someone said, were awesome games. It was the modernization that D&P had, but the old Pokémon. I hated D&P pokes, loved the DS version. Black and White seem to improve on the Pokémon bit, but they still don't have the same charm.

I feel incredibly bad for the younger part of this generation/the new generation. I don't know, I just wouldn't want to be raised on Diamond. I was raised on Sapphire, which wasn't too bad, and I ended up getting Silver and Blue versions later. Though I watched the original anime even before getting the games. The anime has gone downhill as well.

Well that's just your perception of the series as you and it has gotten older.
Just remember that these are going to be some kids original 151. (Technically there's 156, but yeah.)

And I can see what you mean by the anime, Hoenn's anime was ok. I skipped the entire DP saga except the beginning and end, but Black & White's saga is actually entertaining to me again. It might be because Team Rocket doesn't blast off anymore, and that Brock finally got the boot. But I'm back to watching it.

I faintly remember doing that, back in the days. I believe it was on Crystal, but possibly on Ruby.
