The third and final piece I'm putting up for now. A newer lyric, a little bit philosophical, you can read what you like into it to be honest. Like stream-of-consciousness poetry, but more structured.

Understanding
Is still the rarest thing I know
It’s not a logical place to go
Pass by the wasted highs and lows

A natural process
Of loss and reaction
Your colours on the mast
As you break into fractions

Forever is a wide expanse
Where you can never be a part
Of the final dance
We’re only human, that doesn’t help
We’re human so we’re out to find ourselves
I look at the sand, and see my image in the hourglass
The wrong side of the line in the sand
A place time doesn’t pass
You feel trapped, in a cage
For another’s crime
But how would it feel to spend your forever
Running out of time?

Another meaningless entry
In the book of wasted words
Immaterial gain for the rules of the game
We only see what we deserve

I made a promise
But it doesn’t apply today
That’s he way that the world works
I try not to believe the things I say
I’d just be fooling myself, anyway

Forever is a wide expanse
Where you can never be a part
Of the final dance
We’re only human, that doesn’t help
We’re human so we’re out to find ourselves
I look at the sand, and see my image in the hourglass
The wrong side of the line in the sand
A place time doesn’t pass
You feel trapped, in a cage
For another’s crime
But how would it feel to spend your forever
Running out of time?

Putting on a very human face
And running in a very human race
Living in a very human place
For now
