I think there should be a spoiler code that we can use in threads and posts. I don't know what it's called, BB Code? I'm not sure. But on another forum I'm on, whatever you put inside the spoiler tags is hidden until the reader clicks the spoiler button.
Everything in here on the actual post would be hidden

I think it would make longer posts smaller and neater, as well as more organized. Like for posting pictures, you can put all of the pictures in the spoiler tags and on the actual post just the text will show until you click the button.

Just what I was thinking this time :D

It's been suggested multiple times before. It's just not what VT needs. Can be used to hide things from mods at first glance, etc.

I still don't understand why people don't like this idea. It's like everyone is opposed to change sometimes.

I've supported it. But its always been shot down.

I think it would be good for posting pictures or long conversations. It would shorten up the original post and make everything seem neater and more organized.

I get what you're saying about being able to hide things from moderators, but if that's the case, the post can be reported. I know it's a downside, but I think the benefits would be worth the small chance that someone would take advantage of it. Either way, whatever's posted is available to everyone. It's just a matter of hitting the button.

I think we made... like... six threads regarding spoiler tags last year, if I remember right.

But the party will try and make up a lot of excuses on how the spoiler tag cannot be put up and why it is of no use.

Maybe for the TV/Movie section, but other than that, I don't see why we really need them.

Why not have the option?

we can't just have it only for one section. it's a BBCode, like Bold and underline

I still want this and don't see why we can't give it a try.

No, I was just implementing, that the only purpose for this would be for the TV/Movie section. I'm not sure if the staff will think that's a good enough reason to install them.

I've seen too many threads like this. It makes moderation harder. P101 is hard enough to see whats allowed and whats not allowed. Adding spoiler tags to it would just make it harder for us to determine this sorta stuff.

Spoiler tags are meant for if your talking about a movie/tv show but I could see it being abused for pointless things which just make it annoying.

Though I'd like to see it in the TV/Cinema section however it would have to be applied to all forums which would be abused in other sections.

Sorry I just don't think this will ever happen on a help and advice board. Thats what this board is meant to be for.

No, we don't /need/ this. Simple facts, if there is an image you want to hide, then make a link to it. What is there to "spoil" on a help site? Even if it were a longer post, a lot of posts made here shouldn't be treated as tl;dr. It's not needed. If it were to be applied it would have to be global, it could not be used for one forum specifically and it's not needed other than TV/Cinema.
