Wow... I love them.. I personally think they would be one of the best. The majority of their games that I've played were all pretty good and had their small flaws in them, but they still had me playing them for hours. Do you agree or have another, that you think have made better video games?

Ever played Max Payne? Back in 01 and 03 pretty awesome game, today if you were to look at the graphics today, compared to Max Payne's they were shitty, but here's a short clip of it and explain.

I5hmAmae1ws&feature

Basically what happens is; Max Payne is a detective for the NYPD and there is this epidemic drug called Valkyr and it soon reaches the point to where so many people are on it, it's like crack. These people end up breaking into his house and killing his newborn child and wife, his search for revenge. To find the creators and people behind the murder of his wife and child. Pretty sick shit. I really enjoyed that game, this was way back.

The Warriors game based off the movie was incredible :

pbFJdNLM_4I&feature

If you have seen the movie you'd understand the game, which is basically like "crips and bloods" where these guys are recruited into The Warriors and they're taking back territory and beating people up. You can pick up objects of any kind to beat people and play as different characters. The two player split screen was good too.

Now I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but when it comes to Grand Theft Auto I stand firm that the best GTA made was San Andreas gameplay wise as the story mode was fun, you could drive any vehicle, plane, watercraft and it was pretty exhilarating. GTA 4 is good and very real which is to me the best part of the game, but once you beat the story mode, you're done. Unless you either have an Xbox 360 and you get The Ballad of Gay Tony or The Lost and Damned which were good, but short. Or you play online with friends, which there isn't too much to do online anyway and it gets pretty boring after a while and the free mode is pretty dead.

Rockstar games are pretty impressive and good. Not too many disappointments there, you're right, but I just hope they either bring back GTA Vice City in the way they did it in 02 or GTA San Andreas which I think they're going to do Vice City as they've inclined so in GTA 4 story. So some interesting stuff to look forward to there.

Ahhh yes. I remember both. Loved those games as well. Especially The Warriors. I could never beat Max Payne though. Pretty tough game for me, when I played it back then. GTA 4's Free Mode is dead. I haven't played that game in months.

Yeah, I agree that Max Payne was definately one of the funnest games to play, I don't agree with The Warriors. I never really get into that game. Sorry Ronnie.

For me, Rockstar games were good, but so was Insomniac Games. And some others I can't think of.

Max Payne was extremely complicated because there were "specific" ways you have to get to where you needed to go. I think the most frustrating part of that game was where you were in those dreams and you had to follow those blood trails in that whole black area. It was like space and you had to use the slow mo dive to get to certain spots, if you feel you started over. That part sucked, but the combat was always fun, the story and whole "noir novel" way they had it was so different it was a really sweet change, the ending once you did finally get there was incredible too.

Jake does have a good point too, Red Dead Redemption is a pretty awesome game as the length of it is perfect, things to do, open ended. I am a fan of 3rd person shooters, haters gonna hate, but I am a really picky FPS gamer. If I DO play FPS, it's going to be with a friend, otherwise it isn't very much worth it because I just can't get into it. I hate the fact that you're so limited, even though you may call it "realistic" I hate to say it, but I don't care, I like to be able to see the guy, see what's behind me, interact with everything, and overall enjoy the experience completely.

The next company I really enjoy is Eidos famously knows for the series "Hitman" which next to Twisted Metal from back in the day is one of my favorite games of all time. Basically if you are not familiar with the series, you're a clone / contract killer and you are hired to kill select people. You are able to kill people in a very creative and amusing different ways, from up close and personal fiber wire strangulation, to sedating them, to down right brutal cutting their throat or shooting them. In Hitman Blood Money which at the end of this I will show you a clip of game play, you can customize your weapons, from silencers, to red dots and clips, to your sniper rifle which you are conveniently able to carry everywhere in a discrete briefcase. You have to be a master of disguises and know your environment, you have to dress and blend in with the crowd that's around you, so if there's an area where there's cops, you have to make sure that you get yourself a cop uniform by finding one or killing the cop (making sure the body is hidden properly or your cover will be blown and you will be compromised.) and blending in. There's so many different ways to complete the mission by killing your target by either poisoning them if there, sabotaging their things, or killing them with your hands or gun. It's very fun, I never got bored of it to be honest lol. Blood Money was released in 2006, though unfortunately I was unable to play the first one since it was only released on the PC, I was able to play Hitman 2, which is equally impressive, I look forward to the next hitman game to come out, I suggest you look into that game, at the moment it's a good buy also since it's on the older systems, but you will not be disappointed.

To each their own, some people need guns and more action, I personally enjoyed it because I enjoyed the movie and whole retro old scene like that, and it was pretty fun hitting people with bricks and bottles, and interacting with the environment. It's an acquired taste ;)

Any specific game you liked from insomniac?

Sorry OP if I have hijacked your thread... I enjoy these types of discussions lol.

Yes, I have to agree with you there. Hitting people with bricks and bottles is VERY fun. Too bad I don't have it anymore. Although I can do that with a pot plant in GTA 4 at the hospitals. Stupid hospital go-ers, thinking they can get fixed. Especially the ones in bed!! =P

Any specific game you liked from insomniac?

Umm... Well Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked and Loaded was definately my favourite (I haven't tried any PS3 R&C's, even though I have a PS3). I must have clocked that 50 times. What about you? Did you like any Insomniac Games games (hehe)

BTW not trying to semi-spam this with a conversation. I, too, enjoy game-taste threads.

Play GTA 4 when your drunk. Make sure your flying a helicopter through Alderny. THEN you will realise the funness of it.

I think it's Alderny. It's the second biggest city/second biggest island you unlock.

@Topic - - - - - - - - GTA 4 was good for it's graphics and the fact that there was a ragdoll system in it instead of... well... 3D turning into 2D when someone got ran over. But San Andreas had the most missions in any of the GTA games, I think. If there were more missions in GTA 4, like there were in SA, then it would have been more fun. Definately my favourite missions in SA were the Caligula Casino Robbery missions which you did for Wu Zi Mu/The Four Dragons Casino.

You read my mind. That was the mission that I had the most difficulty with. One of the reasons why I never beat the game. Loved Red Dead Redemption as well. Especially the story. Very good twist to it in the end. I've played almost all Hitman series, loved them all for the endless ways of killing and the missions. The character had that elegant and dark personality that I loved. The customizing was great. I always went for those crazy killing sprees and end up with the whole mission location empty with just my self there. I enjoy doing the silent assassinations too. I never had the chance to see the movie, but it looked pretty cool from the trailers. Still want to see it though.

lol Don't worry about hi-jacking it. :D I find it interesting when I see those long, well educated posts(like yours) or seeing different perspectives from people.

I've literally done and probably seen everything in GTA 4. I have to go back to the oldies and have that nostalgic feeling..

Spyro the dragon when I was a kid. I used to play it on the PS1 when he still looked like a purple goat. lol.

EDIT: Resistance Fall of a Man also.

I think my favorite mission on SA was when you had to get in a plane and fly to Liberty City. That was pretty awesome. There was always something to do and it was hard, but the only thing I disliked about it was the cars got destroyed on two seconds if shot at. Very frustrating if doing a mission with time or if you're trying to not to use the health cheat to repair the vehicle. GTA 4 just felt so short. It was really nice that the choices you made by killing select people was interesting making is playable twice, but it was short. Hopefully they do Sand Andreas again because I'm getting really sick of Liberty City. The past couple expansions have been there.

I'll definitely be looking into LA Noir it really looks like it's going to be a good time.

You read my mind. That was the mission that I had the most difficulty with. One of the reasons why I never beat the game.

Yeah it was just very different if you ask me. They're actually in the process of making a new one. I don't know why since the second one was just very strange, it was about the girl that "died" in the first one, it was confusing whether it was all a dream or it was real. If they make a new one I really hope that they keep the gameplay and game ethics the same. OMG I forgot about MANHUNT!!!!! Dude the second one almost got the first Adults Only rating and was almost banned because of the content. That was so crazy. Talk about twisted ways of killing people lol. Max Payne was even made into a movie, it was pretty weird, but it was still a good effort.
Loved Red Dead Redemption as well. Especially the story. Very good twist to it in the end. I've played almost all Hitman series, loved them all for the endless ways of killing and the missions. It's also really interesting to see other people play the game on youtube to see how they got the silent assassin rating. I always used the sniper rifle, I maxed that out and the pistol right away, it was really awesome, I was always impressed by that.
lol Don't worry about hi-jacking it. I find it interesting when I see those long, well educated posts(like yours) or seeing different perspectives from people.
I can just go off on rants about video games and you just were spot on when it came to the topic itself lol.
