ok so today the girl who said she liked me but didnt want to go out with me because she didnt want to ruin our friendship went out with the guy who shes better friends with. what the hell? i mean as fair as i know im not that ugly

Looks have nothing to do with it. Her decision on wanting to not ruin her friendship with you is valid. Many friendships have been ruined through dating, I've seen it happen. If she values you as a friend, then I would be content with that.

She liked the other guy more than you. It happens. Just move on. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. In this case, it didn't.

One thing I've learnt over the past few weeks is that you don't need to be dating someone to show you care about them. She may like you a hell of a lot but she might not want to risk that by having a relationship where she could potentially lose you for good if it were to end badly. People often have different feelings and relationships with their friends but you may be that friend she just can't lose at any cost, it doesn't mean he's any better than you are or that you're not good looking or anything, its just how it works sometimes.

some times girls say there interested in a guy as they think they will then get something out of the guy, but if a better offer comes along the interest goes. Im sorry :( <3

Agreed with all the above.

One other possibility would be that her friendship with the last guy that she was better friends with ended up ruined because of the relationnship, so maybe she just doesn't want the same to happen between you and her.
