Cold sweat consumed him as he shook in his place
While panic entranced his heart in a race
He was bleeding his blood onto the floor
Too much too stop before he is no more
With seconds to live he prays in harsh tones
The coldness is spreading down to his bones
Fighting is useless but he fights still once more
So he may imagine the face of one he adores
A smile will spread as the dark closes in
He'll be blind as a bat with no sonar within
Forgiveness he begs from his lover's dear God
Craving a chance to finish this job
From every pore his sweat turns to blood
Soaking the dirt to a grim crimson mud
Coughing and croaking with the last of his soul
He whispered, "I love you," paying the toll
