Personally.. i believe at the gym, most good looking girls will be checked out, it cant be helped, but if this guy is following you around, it needs to be stopped.

First thing i would suggest, is try moving to opposite ends of the gym from him, if he follows once, try moving to the other end again, it may seem wierd to do, but you need to check he is definatly following you, that you arnt just being paranoid.

Once you are sure he is following you round just for a perv, then you should go to the reception, or to a personal trainer who should be somewhere and ask to talk to them, tell them whats up and that you want the problem solved.
If they dont talk to him, then you are in the wrong kind of gym. Worst comes to work, you could try for an all women gym. Slim chance of getting some wierdo following u around then.

Edit: just realised u said he stares.. maybe just tell him its rude to stare, that should embarrass him, making him stop (i hope)

Maybe nicely tell him yourself, but I guess that would be a little hard to do- Unless you don't have a problem with telling him. Or as everyone else has said, tell the staff, or maybe give him a hint showing him that you don't like it when he stares at you, mabe he'll get it and leave you alone.
