so some details i'm 16 and i have never had my voice crack before. I'm a singer and i've been singing since i was eleven but just recently i realized i can't sing as well as i could. My voice seems harsher and less soft. could this just be my voice changing or is it a problem with my vocal chord? I'm really worried.

If you are sixteen and your voice hasnt broken yet then you must expect it soon. A boy's singing voice often takes on a more edgey quality, less smooth, actually quite a sexy sound in a trained singer, just when its on the point of turning. It sounds like that could be your situation.

If you're worried about your range, don't worry, falsetto is really useful.

As a voice teacher and someone who has been singing since they were four, there a few ways to look at this.
1. You voice is changing and you need to work on mending your break, the range between your falsetto and your natural singing voice. Ways to fix this includes goign to a vocal teacher or practice your vocal range exercises and also a plus side is that you can expand your vocal range. My voice started cracking around 15 and I did vocal exercises everyday and now I have a 5 octave range.
2. Timber, you need to work on the timber of your voice. Relax when you sing and make sure you use good posture. Lining up your airway will help to improve your sound termendicly and make sure you stay hydrated.
3. And most importantly, you need to make sure that you do not strain your voice. The last thing you need to do is develope vocal polyps which can only be removed through surgery.
4. Another resource to use is your choir teacher at school, I do not know what your teachers specialty is but mine is in classical training and jazz. Ask around.
Hope this helped, PM if you have anymore questions....
