On my last two computers, we ran Windows XP, and it came with Mircrosoft Word Processor, and the ability to buy MicroSoft Office if you want.
Well, we just upgraded to a new computer, it runs Windows 7, and it doesn't come with Microsoft Word Processor, but it has Microsoft Office(which needs to be paid for.), so I was wondering, is there anyway to get Microsoft Word Processor back for free? (legally is good. lol)

You have to pay for Microsoft office to get it. If you go around looking for a free copy, don't say I didn't warn you, if you get a virus.

Microsoft Word Processor was part of the old Microsoft Works software series, which isn't being made anymore. Sorry, you'll have to buy Microsoft Office instead. Why wouldn't you? It's easily the best office suite on the market.

Openoffice or Microsoft Works, which has the word processor. I have it on my computer, and it's Windows 7.

no, OpenOffice is. it's free, open source, and well documented. plus, there are more people who can help you with it.

Well, if it's free and open source, it's technically not "on the market".

yeah... i vote for OpenOffice if you want something legally... To download openoffice, Go to www.openoffice.org or click this link http://mirror-cybernet.lums.edu.pk/pub/openoffice/stable/3.3.0/OOo_3.3.0_Win_x86_install-wJRE_en-US.exe

As stated above get OpenOffice if you cannot afford to buy Microsoft Office again.

Two alternatives to Microsoft Office would be Google Docs and OpenOffice. If you can't afford to buy Microsoft Office, I highly recommend you use OpenOffice. Though it isn't an "on the market" program, it's free and open sourced. Plus, the support for the product is great and has no hassle at all. However, if you are choosing to buy Microsoft Office, you'll have to decide which edition is best for you here (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/office-2010-which-suite-is-right-for-you-FX101825640.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA101823855). I use the standard edition (which comes with Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher) but if you're looking for something small, Home and Student edition is the way to go.

ha yep the only way to legally get it w/o the risk of a virus is to buy it
