You probably shouldn't go around begging people to sell you weed... You can't get physically addicted to weed, but you might think you need it.

Marijuana Dependency, it happens: http://www.marijuana-addiction.net/marijuana-dangers.htm

And you shouldn't be asking people for it at school.

Yes, you certainly can get addicted. It can range from a very light addiction (like video games or something) to a moderate addiction (like cigarettes) depending on your personality and other circumstances. The addiction will never be a strong one because weed addiction doesn't affect your body whatsoever, you won't be in actual burning pain like cocaine or heroin addicts in withdrawal.

I am definitely addicted to weed.

That doesn't mean it's not an addiction, actually that's kinda how psychological addiction works.

You can't compare an addiction to video games and that of cigarettes as being "light" vs. "moderate" (respectively). Video games is a psychological addiction and and nicotine is physical. Comparing them is like apples vs. oranges. And it definitely does affect your body - psych addictions will force you to smoke more weed, which in turn damages your body. Your body doesn't crave it, but your mind ultimately has control anyway so you're going to end up doing it.

I garunetee you thats just your mind telling yourself that.

Which will make him continue to smoke it, so what's wrong with his statement? I'd say if he accepts his addiction than he's addicted.

That doesn't mean it's not an addiction, actually that's kinda how psychological addiction works.

No, that's EXACTLY how a psychological addiction works. Your acceptance of it is like a last step in the addiction process. Now you just have to beat it...

Nicotine/Tobacco addiction is both physical and psychological. In fact the psychological part of cigarette addiction is stronger than the physical effects of withdrawal.
You can't compare an addiction to video games and that of cigarettes as being "light" vs. "moderate" (respectively).
It's less of a comparison and more using them as loose points of reference. And you still got my point so I really don't see why it matters.
And it definitely does affect your body - psych addictions will force you to smoke more weed, which in turn damages your body.
Weed addiction and withdrawal does not directly affect your body.
No, that's EXACTLY how a psychological addiction works.
No that's just one symptom, there's more factors than that.
Your acceptance of it is like a last step in the addiction process. Now you just have to beat it...

First of all, it's not a good idea to go asking people at school for weed. All it takes is a snitch and it gives the school administration just 'cause to search you at any time, property or locker. That's not cool. It's your choice to smoke, but do it discretely, it should just be something you find and do with friends that you find out smoke too. You can get it through people, I just strongly advise that you do not do it on school grounds or ask about it on school grounds, it's only asking for trouble.

You're only addicted if you say you are. Remember, you don't need anything but water, food substance and basic necessities. So when you catch yourself saying "I NEED weed" then check yourself because you don't need it, you want it. Just keep that you do it on the down low and find some people that actually do, by just meeting people, without asking they'll say it, or you'll find out. Weed is a mind altering substance, it's up to you to take the responsibility to use it properly.

You cant get addicted to weed, its just another coping macanism (I cant spell for shit please dont remind me). As Ronnie said, people at school will only snitch on you, if you are going to find someone, find someone your close to and can trust to deal you that shit. Im NOT condoning it, but if you dont listen, at least get a dealer who wont grass.

You can't get physically addicted to Marijuana but you can get mentally addicted.

Quitting weed will be easier then quitting cigarettes but still a challenge

Ha, I negotiated a deal today actually haha. Be tactful. Don't beg. If you go to my school teachers don't give a shit if you do weed, and maybe your school is like that too.

This is an absolute stupid question. Of course you know it's bad to be asking for it randomly like that. Did your school system not go over the drug talk? Did DARE not teach you anything or were you just not listening at all. You know it's bad.
I'm not trying to jump down your throat for the use of it, because I use it too. I'm just saying, that's common sense.

Ok, Rutherfird, where were u during the drug classes? Off getting baked? Because contrary to weed user opinion, you can get addicted. If your mind tells you you need it, that's an addiction. In layman's terms, the answer is a resounding yes. Deal with it.

I hope you know schools are pretty much going to do whatever they can to make sure that any drug looks like a fucking beehive. Sorry, but the Health class you take, they're trying to scare the living shit out of you. Sure, some of what they say is true, mainly about the heavy drugs, but when they talk about Marijuana being addicting like crack, that's just bullshit. It's not really harmful and it's been proven to help people with many health and mental issues before.

It's mentally addicting, not physically. Although, mental addiction doesn't mean it's always easy to quit. Not all of our minds can just say, "Yeah, I can stop now". Some people just really want to get stoned nonstop and feel like it's the only way to feel good.

Physical addiction is something you can't control. Well, you can get in Rehab or try to detox, but most addicts aren't willing to do that. Most addicts don't want to get sober. Even the ones that do are scared of what it's like being sober. Physical addiction fucking hurts, literally. Your body starts reacting negatively when you decide to not keep using whatever physically addicting drug you've been using.

Weed is not addictive if u have self control. I'm 18 and have smoked and ate it since I was 12. I do not need it only do it socially with friends and girlfriend. Now smoking pot is major hell on your lungs. I prefer to cook it up in the form of butter and make things with it like brownies cookies and stuff. It may not hit u as quick but when it does look out and last a lot longer than smoking but then again there's nothing better than a good ol clam bake. Anyway just tell yourself you need nothing only want it and u will be fine. I only mean this for weed.

If anyone gets addicted to weed, it's a matter of psychological addiction, and isn't in fact the weeds fault at all. If you quit the weed, the problems in your psyche will just manifest in another way.

people get addicted to drinking though, leading to the proper answer to this thread: yes, you can get addicted to weed, though normally it's only a psychological addiction (there's not really any withdrawal symptoms except in very heavy users).

I lol'd. Hard.
Aren't you like a doctor or something?

Also, not anything with nicotine is addictive. Nicotine is a chemical found in plants of the nightshade family, which include potatoes. Iunno about you, but I've never seen anyone addicted to potatoes.

This. You can get addicted to weed the same way you can get addicted to chocolate, or shopping, or roller coasters.
