He drove on faster as the miles grew tight
The destination must be achieved by tonight
No question is asked, but an answer is earned
For the one who has loved him is the one that he yearned
His travels were quiet in the dead of the night
Moving by the day was too much of a fight
By the stars he treads with his heart as his guide
At the end he’ll be home with his arms open wide
Distance is no measurement compared to his love
But how he longed for some wings, ones like a dove
So he could fly up high over all of the pain
Skipping each obstacle and harsher terrains
He questions the motives as his miles come short
Should the end be his goal, or his one last resort?
What makes love worth a thousand miles or two?
He isn’t quite sure, but he’ll make them all for you
