Green Day, MCR, Blink 182. You call these bands punk? Fuck off.
They are all alt/pop punk. Go listen to this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wizKUrUgFOw

I don't think those bands are punk either, I don't even think there pop/punk. No offence. Punk is Dead, Punk was really the 70's, bands like The Germs, Black Flag, X, The Bags/Alice Bag Band, Catholic Discipline, Circle Jerks, Fear etc. I'm not just saying it because I like the bands, because I don't like those bands and I don't like Punk Music

I wont, because I really couldn't give a fuck what iTunes says, even if it is feeding idiots like you bullshit. The point is, people with a good music knowledge know Green Day aren't punk.

I have Aus-Rotten's "Fuck Nazi Sympathy EP", and it's ok. Do you have an album to suggest?

Edit: Nevermind, I just remembered someone gave me one of their LPs (I think "The Rotten Agenda") a while ago, but I haven't got around to listening to it. I guess I will now.

I like some D-Beat, but it can get old if the band is exactly like Discharge. Favorite D-Beat band would probably Wolfpack (or Wolfbrigade as they're known as now).

Rise Against.
Dead Kennedies and Daygol Abortion are okay too.

EDIT:Blink182 and Green Day are pop punk. Although they sound completely different, technically.. Still punk.

Yeah, the bands mentioned like Greenday, aren't considered punk.

And punk is dead? LMFAO NO. Sorry the reason they've been writing songs called Punks not dead, is because it's not.

It's as silly as saying metal died. Just because punk isn't in the spotlight, doesn't mean it's dead, it's far from it. In my city alone (Ottawa, Canada) I can list off over 30 punk bands locally. Many have hit it big, including The Riptides and soon to be The Sewer Rats.

I personally love Aus Rotten, Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, Black Flag, Minor Threat, A Global Threat (seen em live) and many other PUNK bands.

If it doesn't have a fast drum beat to kick peoples ass to, it's not punk ;]

Blink 182's old stuff like Chesire Cat and Buddha were punk but the rest is more pop rock, Green Day was punk now alternative. Sum 41 can be considered punk do to the fact they played with Iggy Pop, their lyrics are anarchy, and they were on the "rock against bush" album with NOFX. MCR are more modern rock not punk. NOFX are punk.

Blink 182's older stuff, is like diet punk. Not satisfying and only half there.

Sum 41 is far from punk, lyrics do not equal sound of genre. NOFX are punk, however have been starting to lose their touch.

I hope you're kidding.

Actually now that I think about it, the offspring besides calling themselves light rock, do have a very very very small amount of 3rd Wave Ska in them.
