Just came out to one of my friends, the first person I have come out to. Got really nervous, as you do, then told her. She's fine with it! Yes! Oh nope, she thinks I'm joking. Wow, awkward.... Ehm. She's started to believe me since but still thinks I'm taking the piss.

Well...27 minutes gone since I said I was gay... and she's "trying to process this" Oh no, wait, she's still on the fence. FALL OFF THE FENCE WUMMAN!

It's rather funny though, it's probably the most brutal come-out in history.

Ok over exaggeration but it was still really hard. About an hour later she's still not believing me and accusing me of trying to "fuck with her emotions" and telling me I'm an ass.

i hope everything turns out alright for you. your friend just needs a bit of time to think things through. I mean, it'll change the dynamics of ur relationship a bit. When one of my friends came out to me, i was a little uncertain at first, and then when i came out to others, they had the same reaction. the bit about her thinking ur taking the piss might be just a denial of whats in front of her. be patient and stick it out! good luck :)

That's really unfortunate and I feel for you. I hope she can get her shit scraped into one pile and get over it and help you through this like the friend she is supposed to be, not make it even more of a trauma for you.

Tried to PM you but couldn't

The best way is to be open with them. I joked around for ages with my coming out and that made it harder for my friend to believe. You just have to say it. But be confident and be yourself. If they are your friend already then they like you as a person and for what you are so you have nothing to fear :)
