We may not be related by blood but I've known you since you were four years old. I know you don't really remember a time when I was not around.

I am always filled with such joy when you call me your big sister rather than your step-sister. I'm proud to be your sister. I'm glad you've accepted me into your family like you have. That's the biggest gift you could ever give me.

I've watched you grow up. I can feel it too because you're currently sitting on my shins while I write this and you are heavy! You are such an amazing kid. You have no idea. You're smart, you know right from wrong and you have a huge heart. I smile at how you make a point of telling our parents to drive safely before they go to work.

Your birthday is coming up soon. You're going to be twelve. You'd never think it- you're so silly, frantically waving at me from across the couch. I'm sad you're off to your dad's for the night. I miss you when you aren't here.

I love you, kiddo. You are the little sibling I always wanted growing up. You are a blessing. Don't ever think otherwise.

Mark, I will hopefully see him when he comes home from school in a couple days. I'm still off from exams but his dad, who lives quite a drive away, is not great at being on time so my brother is usually here for a bit.
