The title says it all, denizens of Virtualteen.org/forums/

I want to know what kind of headphones I should use for my iPod since Apple's break easily.

Oddly, I find that the ones I get with iPods have lasted me longer than the ones I usually get.

I hate how they feel though. I love the inner-ear buds that block out outside noise substantially.

I usually get either Sony or Skullcandy (there are some very basic ones in appearance instead of the over-the-top, sort of emo/scene ones that I hate :/). Skullcandy's usually cheaper anyway, so when they do wear out it's cheaper to replace them. I usually don't think it's worth it to invest in some more expensive ones unless I'm going for a very nice set of headphones, like the gaming ones with a mic and noise cancellation. While basic Skullcandy earbuds (their "Ink'd" brand) you can get for $10, the more durable ones for $20 or so.

I have a pair of $40 Sony noise-cancelling headphones (which is just a fancy way of saying 'bass booster'). Pretty decent, nothing special, but if you're looking to get a pair of regular headphones and waste an AAA battery every month, go ahead.

I found my earbuds that came with my iPod have lasted longer than any other headphones I've gotten!
I have a pair of sound canceling Skullcandy earbuds.
They cost me like $60 though. I don't like spending a lot on headphones, cause I'm so hard on them I guess lol, and they don't last long.

I have a pair of Zune Premium in-ear headphones.
Things are practically indestructible. I've had mine for about 4ish years now, and they've been through just about everything; shut in car doors, stepped on, ran over, dropped in water, and they still function great.
Oh, and they sound good too. ;)

Interesting. The earbuds that came with my Zune are starting to wear out. At $30 do you think I should buy the premium in-ear headphones?

I have skullcandy. It's the most convenient way to go for me. I suggest those, or those JVC ones. Those are good too.

Sure I do.
The sound quality, for the price, is just unmatched, IMO.

Though, I suppose it should be noted, if you like bass, these headphones are not for you, as these headphones were designed with the /actual/ audiophiles in mind. So much so, that an EQ is almost required.

I don't mind not having bass if they're earbuds. However, it's inexcusable for over-the-ear headphones.

I suppose I didn't mean it like that....
They have bass, sure, but they weren't designed like 95% of the other headphones out there. Almost every other pair of headphones says something about how much bass they can put out, and that's not what these headphones are about.
When Microsoft designed these, they designed them to showcase the audio, not destroy it by over-powered bass.
As I said in my previous post, they were designed with /true/ audiophiles in mind.

Yeah, I understand. I don't like too much bass either, but from experience a lot of my earbuds and headphones have had a severe lack of bass. Looks like I'll buy myself a pair, the price is really good and I have the money.

I don't want to pay thirty dollars for earbuds. :P

I use Moguls (http://ifrogz.com/product/EP-MG) by iFrogz. Sure, $70 is a lot, but they're great quality. They're not too comfortable at first, but they become more comfortable over time.
