OP, you can't prove points to exes. That's absurd.

If you're still having sex with your ex, it's a fuck buddy.

Hate to be a parrot, but yeah, just once.

I would actually say two or three times. When I hear 'affair', I picture something more elaborate and consistent, not a single experience with someone besides your significant other. But really, it's all just semantics, and I'm still going to insist that trying to prove anything to an ex is a futile and petty way to spend your time.

cheating is once...
and affair is something recurring..
but remember you shouldn't come second. Be patient and something more suitable will come up.
Think of other people's feelings.

As people have said an affair implies a relationship not just a one-night stand. Unless you have an open relationship, which you did not. Since his your ex - why are you so bothered with him, as he has another gf?
You will find someone who will just stay with you rather than cheating on you.

This says it all to be honest. Anything more than once is classed as an affair. Cheating once in my books though is still just as bad as having an affair, its still a break of trust.

It shouldn't happen in the first place. Once is the answer but you should never let it get that far to begin with!

If he's your ex, keep it that way. It's a moot point, move on.

Just my opinion, but I'd say once.
