This might be a silly questions, but...

How the fuck can you like that stuff? O.o

I haven't had vegemite, but I've had marmite. I hate that stuff enough, and then I'm told vegemite is even saltier

There are a lot of things I don't like. But I can understand that people like those things. I don't like chocolate for instance, but I don't question at all why people like it. Vegemite on the other hand... :yuck:

Please explain... :P

Wasn't meant to offend in case it does. I'm actually really curious.

I came into this thread liking it, but know that I know what it is... D:

You need toast for vegemite. If you have it by itself, it's awful. I believe it is an aquired taste.

My mum puts marmite on her crumpets :/ I don't get it. Butter and honey please, but no marmite o.O
I of course can't blame Aussies for liking vegemite. But, still :P Definitely an acquired taste, but so is alcohol and coffee and tea... Two of those things I swallow on a weekly basis... (coffee and tea I mean)

The stuff even looks bad, really. I'd probably try it once then never touch it again.

When I was in Australia I tried it and threw up cause I couldnt take it. I had to brush my teach for 20min. So I brought some home for my family and they all had the same reaction. I laughed my ass off!!!!

Some people have a taste for certain things. I think it's delicious, but yeah, like I said. Taste just like marmalade.

It's definitely not my cup of tea.

Not everyone likes it. It's not very well known in North America, let alone liked. And at least from my experience, I've met fewer Brits who like marmite than Aussies who like vegemite. Though it's a widely known thing.

Every area has their own little thing that isn't quite liked as much in other countries, but in the native country, it's pretty much a delicacy. Don't know what the equivalent in America would be. Though now that I live in Georgia, I've tried to get some southerners into hot tea instead of sweet ice tea. My success rate has been sadly low o.O

Shows you how different places in the world are. Generally, you're more prone to like the things you've been raised with. I was raised with black breakfast tea, a lot of Aussies are raised with putting vegemite on their toast and such. I was, however, not raised with marmite, so I never really was into it, and when I finally tried it... :yuck:

I spose that if you wernt used to the taste you wouldnt like it very much possibley.. lol I find that what its made out of is kind of gross though...
but its so weird thinking that there is so much other people in the world who all have been brought up so diffrently...cause I live in new zealand and everyone is the same (kind of) and you get so used to things like vegemite that you forget that soso much people do things diffrently < lol if that makes any sense..?
just shows that everyone is different :)
