I cut earlier and I feel so dizzy. What do I do about it?

All I can suggest is just sit or lay down. Try and let your body recover from the blood loss. I found in the past a shower helps me a lot. maybe its something to do with the water splashing on your skin  I dunno :whoops:
I hope you feel better soon

Drink some apple juice or something and lie down. Sleeping can help but that can just make you paranoid about it.

Drink/eat milk and/or cheese?? I know it helps when I'm dizzy or have headaches (or sometimes it just makes the headaches worse :[ )

Thats why I recommended apple juice. Also, when you are feeling dizzy taking hot baths DOES help. The heat helps get the blood flow to the brain. So does hot/cold compresses and what not. Just because it's from blood loss doesn't mean it won't help. Drinking non-carbonated fluids helps settle it as well..

Eat something Kathy. Probably doesn't help your stomach's empty.

I agree with everything above. Make sure you drink water after any type of fluid loss. Lay down and relax. Just be sure to eat something and relax. Make sure you keep the wound clean so it dosent become infected - which will lead to serious problems.
Feel free to message me if you need anything :)

I've heard you can become dehydrated after cutting, try drinking lots of water, also have some sugar, it will help. :)

Drink lots of fluids, I recommend water. Lay down. Stay down. Check and see if your scars are infected. I hope you get well.

Honestly, don't shower. A bath maybe, but being unstable on your feet is not a good time to shower. You want to lie down and eat something.

Well first of all, my heart problem means that I don't repsond well to going from lying down to standing up, so bath not a good idea. I will not eat. I drank water and slept. I still feel a bit dizzy today, but then again I did cut again.
Thanks for all your replies though, it's appreciated.

Drink water, eat something with potassium (banana), and take a hot shower!

First things first!! I would advise cleaning your wound with a small amount of Hydrogen Peroxide. After it has finished cleaning the cut you need to pat it dry with a CLEAN peice of gauze. Next place a small amount of triple antibiotic ointment of a 4x4 bandage and place it over the cut during the day.
Also you need to keep your levels up; water, protein, carbs and sugar. A good way to find out what you need to be eating is go to myfoodpyramid.gov and you can enter your weight, activity level and BMI. All of these will be factored to give you a good idea of what you need to be eating.
Also when you are trying to keep your sugar up what you need to do instead is eat a protein bar or something similar and that will give you a good boost of energy and then you need to eat some crackers to maintain it.
It takes anywhere from 48-72 hours for your body to replenish your blood supply.
Also once your cut starts to heal and scab over, apply a warm compress to the area and that might help reduce the skins tendency to natrally scare.
Please PM me if you have anymore questions, I am a Phlebotomist and I deal with this a more regular basis that what most people think. Also depending on your heart condition you might really benefit from laying down because that will cause your blood pressure to raise and then you will get more oxygen to your brain.
