As you can see in the pictures, there are these fucking ridiculous vertical flickering lines across my entire screen. They first appeared when I was halfway through a game of Black Ops today, and now they come up every time I start my Xbox. I have it hooked up to my LG 1080p computer monitor with a HDMI cable.

A cable might have come loose or something. Have you checked out the cables on your t.v.?

Well, it could easily be the HDMI cable. I'll try another one and see if it's still messed up.
EDIT: Well, fuck. The other cable just made it worse. Wat do, VT?

It usually means you're about to get the RROD.

Well, fuck. The weird thing is that the 360 doesn't freeze up or anything. These lines just appear everywhere.
So, what should I do?

You could try calling the amazingly reliable customer service number.

I've found out what it is. It's error code E 74, which is video-related. Apparently, Microsoft has a 3 year warranty on this shit, so I think I can get a repair.

Oh well if it's not freezing then maybe it's not that bad. When I got it, it was freezing too...and unfortunately it was the beginning of the end for that xbox.

Good thing is I'm covered by the warranty. Fuck yeah.
Sadly, I paid $8 for a Black Ops rental for nothing.

This Xbox is almost 3 years old. It's gone through a lot, about time it happened. I don't know exactly what's wrong with the video output. Besides, Microsoft's repairing it for free, so I don't really care.

Did you read the thread at all? And what does a PS3 have to do with this thread? NOTHING.
@Justin, ahhhh yes, the nice prelude to the E 74 error.
Other signs of the fantastic error include missing 3D objects in games, or missing textures.
Edit: Also, the E 74 error is an issue with the GPU itself, not the video connection.

I couldn't even see the game when it started flipping out
I never expected this to happen, though. I was walking up a flight of stairs in Black Ops, and BOOM— static, static everywhere.
Anyone know why the Xbox 360 online repair request is down?

Yes i read it, and I'm saying I'm happy I went and got it on Black Friday of '06. There has NEVER been a a problem with it. It never crashed, and I never had to send it to get fixed. Best thing I ever bought.

Everything dies eventually, my friend.
I don't blame Microsoft, I've never had any problems with their products that they haven't fixed for free.

... Odd.
You can always call the handy-dandy 1-800 number, then spend 2 hours on the phone with a computer trying to get to the place you want, an hour on the phone with someone you can't understand, before you finally ask to be transfered to an American call center (They do exist! :p ), only to find out that no one is available, then sit on hold for another 2-3 hours, before finally getting any sort of service done.

I've got time. I hate talking to people over the phone, so I'll just wait for Microsoft to fix the online service center (it's Sunday, so nobody did it today) tomorrow.
