Anything that causes general fat loss -i.e. cardio. Crunches, sit-ups, etc. really don't much change ab visibility unless you already have a six pack.

Totally agree, I have good abs and don't do a lot of sit ups. My friend has a four pack naturally just from sports in school. Its mainly about how much fat you have on your belly, and unfortunately a few people have to get almost dangerously low on body fat to get rid of it enough.
There was some discussion here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=93284)too.

First, do the exercises stated above.
Next, you may need to shed a bit of fat to make that six pack visible. Most people have some abs, just ones that are 'invisible'. I've been working out for months but am just starting to see my abs in the past few weeks as I've lost a few pounds.
You will not wake up tomorrow and have abs of steel. It takes time.

actually, crunches and six packs arent the best by any means as far as building the muscle. For toneing, an exercise called the bycicle exercise ( basically laying on your back, legs held straight at a 45 degree angle to the ground, then crunch to one side, bringing the leg of the same side upwards at the same time. return to the starting positon then do the other side, do as many as you can). Also, leg raises, and planks are excelent ab exercises. most importantly, is cardio. You dont need ripped abs to look beast, just a flat stomach and your in shape. the pop-out abs come later. Dont eat late at night, try not to over eat. You dont have to diet, but just common sense; fruit over potato chips, water over soda. drink lots of water too. Theres alot more to getting a 6 pack than just mindless crunches.
Best advice for getting in as many rep's of exercises as you can:
When watching TV, in a half hour show theres usually just about 9 or 10 minuets of commercials, in blocks of about 3 minuets each. During the break of each show, drop and do some pushups, situps, bycicles, just some kind of exercise. Dont waste those few minuets. those 20 more reps a day can really add up

Best response I've gotten! I never thought to exercise during commercial breaks. I've been doing bicycles for awhile now. 30 a day. From what you've been saying, I'm not doing enough seeing as how I can still continue to do more after that. I've also been doing 15 leg raises a day. I don't know if that's a good amount or not, so would you mind filling me in? Also, how would I do a plank? Oh and one last question, can you give me some good examples of cardio or cardio exercises that I could do in my home? Thanks for the tips. ^

As for cardio exercises, I recommend timed runs. It's that simple. Day one- Plan to run 5 minutes non-stop. Do this for two-three days then take a day off. Increase to 7 minutes, then to 10, then 12, then 15 and so forth. Excellent cardio develops around 40 to 45 minutes. Good cardio would be 20 minutes, at least.
Also, you could try dot drills. This however, will focus more primarily on balance and coordination. Both of which are in respect to your core strength (abs). Below, I'll add a video explaining what dot drills are.
My favorite dot drill exercise can be explained in the video using small adaptations.
Between each "phase" do not pause. Simply transition into them.
Phase one - X's for one minute.
Phase two - Front-Back's for one minute. (Two-foot zigzag, back and forth over the center dot.)
Phase three - Left-Right's for one minute. (Two-foot zigzag using the back two quadrants only.)
Phase four - One-Foot Left-Right's for one minute. (Back two quadrants using the One-Foot Zigzag)
Phase five - Same as above, with opposite foot.
Phase six - Phase two again.
Phase seven - Phase one again.

Timed runs sound like my type of thing. I can run for a good amount of time already, so it shoudn't be too hard on me. Thanks for all this :)

2 weeks isn't necessarily that long in fitness terms, but more importantly without a low enough body fat percentage even months of crunches won't make for visible abs.

There are many good exercise suggestions, but prolly the best way to get a 6 pack is to follow a balanced diet, and one that includes very little white sugar, white flour, low simple carbs. Eat complex carbs with a balance of fat and protein.
Many people who are ripped benefit from good genetics, but with good diet and exercise everyone can have excellent looking abs.

Ive got an 8 but thats b/c I have virtually no body fat (13%) but i weigh 120 and am 5'8"
basically you wont see a six pack if you have too much body fat
most people have a 4/6 pac even if they cant see it. you just need to either really vigorously work your mid section to lose fat or work on heavy weighted ab work outs Ex:50lbs resistance crunches
so that your abs will bulge and show
