Ok so I want to break out of the friend zone (all consequences asssessed) with my friend Sarah from my school. I was talking to her as a friend and she always thought romantic songs were really sweet.
I'm in a band (drums & vocals), but we do a lot of thrash and alternative. So girls, how would you want that song to be written, performed, and presented?

I'm a songwriter dude. You could do an awesome melodic acoustic song. Just write it for an acoustic guitar and vocals. You could record it for her if you didn't want to do it in front of her with your guitarist there too!
I find it easiest to write a set of lyrics first, just write about how she makes you feel. Then you can write a guitar part and a melody to go over it for the vocals. Easy as pie. ;)

Well I'm a guy but im a guitarist and I right songs... this isn't really thrash metal or alternative but the song Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney never fails. Just perform/present it however you think she would like it... it'll work best if it seems natural.

Thoughtfully, cleanly, emotionally.
For most girls however, thrash isn't going to go :P
