I saw you standing, silhouette of an amorphous figure,
Upon an old hillside that once held a hearty oak tree,
Where under we'd sit idly by for hours in the calming shade;
Way back when you rested deep within the heart of me.

You stood upon a hillside, offset by a blue sky set ablaze
By never ending conflicts raining sadist bombs from above.
From afar your eyes could be shining bright like Napalm
Burning the flesh of innocence, charring the wings of the dove.

Your voice rang out like screaming children in the furnace,
As their skin began ablating from muscle and bone.
And as I grew closer I could smell the scent of malice,
Some malevolent aroma radiating; warning of being alone.

At your side, I could vaguely recall your original form
That rested at my side beneath shady oak and starry sky,
I saw the downfall of this world behind those napalm eyes
And knew that your mercy and grace were in short supply.

So if this enmity filled sky is our last sunset,
Then let us count the bombs like shooting stars-
And take me quickly, painlessly from this dying world
And into captivity to suffer for your pulsating scars.

Tristin.
