Cinderella had it easy when he asked her to the ball,
Prince charming didn't struggle, for he could have it all.
Wedding bells were ringing, a cliche a of many sorts,
That's how fairy tales work, easy makes it short.
But what if prince charming didn't want her hand at all?
What if Cinderella danced with a princess at the ball?
Would it still be a fairy tale if a man was whom he called?
Would fairy godmother be okay, if a woman was what she awed?
How can we say what is happily ever after?
When they look at us like we don't even matter.
Must we be normal for a fairy tale start?
Shall we study our books and make lying an art?
It wouldn't be so easy if for a man the prince would fall.
If a wicked witch was simply jealous of Cinderella's doll.
In a world where we should seek, a merry little ending,
It's hard to slay the dragon, when we're supposed to be pretending.
