Approaching a girl on the street

I tried to search but i haven't found a similar thread so here goes.

What do you guys think about approaching a girl you like on the street?

On my way home just now i picked my head up at one point and accidentally looked straight into the eyes of one of the most amazing girls I've ever seen. She wasn't just beautiful, but like perfect in every way i could tell (my personal preferences ofc^^). Then i had a really strong urge to turn back and say 'something' to her(which doesn't happen to me), but... then the voice in my head talked me out of it - it had a good point, what the hell was i gonna say, "i think you're so amazing, will you please have something more do to with me sometime?:lol:"? And the fact i look like i just crawled out of my coffin these days didn't help.

So yeah, have you ever done something of the sorts? Is it worth doing even if it doesn't seem even remotely likely to get a positive answer, and making a complete ass of yourself?

iv never turned back, but just start talking when you see them, slow down and say "hi", "how you" or just start talking about anything really, but the thing is not everywhere is as friendly as Glasgow lol

I don't think i've ever really done this, the voice in my head is dwelling to much on her telling me to "fuck off" or somthing.

Yeh if some randomer started talking to me on the street Id be like "Please dont rape me" in my head. xD
So thats why I've never done it to someone. :P

It's how I met my gf and I'm glad I did :) You're most likely to cross paths and when you do, smile. Eventually you'll see where she hangs and you may mutually consent to talk - but don't creep her and don't follow her.

Thinking about it i think i might have see her once before around the same spot and walking the opposite direction just like now...no sure tho, maybe if i get lucky and our paths cross again I'll try what Kyle said and just smile :) I can't imagine what I'd say that isn't creepy otherwise lol.

Look, the best way to do it (FROM EXPERIENCE) Is to approach gently, and say something random. Not something like wow your thighs are just gigantic, but more in the spirit of "Hey, isn't red is a gr8 colour? BTW my name is Bam"
I'm sure you can do it. The key is looking relaxed, casual and all this stuff. If you start talking to her about her, she will think you are about to rape her (which isn't the goal).
