I cut. In an exam!

I had a biology exam and all exam situations make me stressed understandably, I went into the exam shaking and so I really wanted to cut. But I couldn't obviously.
Then the exam had questions about blood in it and I feel so stupid because I found it really triggering, I don't usually find stuff like this triggering. And I couldn't stop myself I used the only thing I had on me (a compass) to cut myself just enough to bleed. The minute the exam was over I went to the toilets and just cut all over my legs. I feel so pathetic who cuts in an exam? Who gets triggered my a biology exam on blood?? I'm such a fool.

I've never cut in an exam, but I have cut right after an exam because I was convinced I'd failed, and obviously, that stressed me out, and cutting calms me when I'm stressed. I know exactly what you mean. I often get urges to cut in the most inconvenient places, like last week, I had a huge urge to cut in an RE lesson, because the teacher brought up a picture of someone with scars all over them (We were doing something on equality and hate crimes against homosexuals and stuff, it was an example of a hate crime). I remember finding it extremely triggering, and I was already having a bad day, so I asked to go to the toilet, and then I cut.

I self harmed at school today too. Same as you, with a compass. So you aren't the only one who does this.
I've been triggered in biology lessons before, when they've talked about blood.

I haven't cut because of an exam, but I did cut during class because the teacher was really pushing me in ways she shouldn't have been o.O It wasn't very ideal, let me tell you, because I had to slip my razor out of one of those little jewelery boxes that I use to keep them in, then I hid my hands in my bag while I did it. The bell rang sooner than I thought and I was the last to leave because I was trying so hard to set it up so she wouldn't notice the cuts on my hand, putting away my stuff with only one hand and she was staring at me the entire time... bleh :/

I'm sure you're not the only one though. Like Georgia said, sometimes we get those urges in very inconveniant places.

I've cut with compasses to before. I can't remember what triggered me.
Your not a fool, everyone gets triggered by different things.

I've cut in school too, not in an exam, but with a compass. I used to have a razor in my bag but then my friend found it so all I had was my math set so yeaaah. Like others said, I went to the bathroom to do it.

Its ok, its natural to get triggered by such things, I know I have in the past. its done now, you can't take it back, the best thing you can do is resolve to not do it again and move on.

ive scratched my arm and leg during school to the point where it was raw so you arent stupid at all! it seems pretty "normal" just pick up and keep going and try to stop cutting :hug:

i can understand your stress and how you feel
i have never cut in an exam but i have in school before
i did exactly what u did all over a stupic dumb situation(i got dumped)
sometimes i get triggered or set off easily by things that get said either about my past, death, or blood

I once hit myself with a rubber band on my arm until it was all red in class, and also stabbed myself with a pencil so you're not a fool.
I would probably get triggered by a question like that too :hug3:
