How do you create a group?

There is a qualification in terms of minimum number of posts and time on site, I'm not sure what it is off hand but you almost certainly dont have enough posts just yet.

Once you meet the qualification if you go to Community -> Social Groups then scroll to the bottom of the page there is a "Create new group" option.

As The Dark Lord said, he or anyone else with 500+ posts may create a group for you, the reason we have the groups set so high that way we don't have a lot of empty groups lying around. So in order to create a group it's 500 posts. :)

Don't you have to be a member for X amount of days as well?
If I remember correctly, when I reached the 500 post mark, I /still/ couldn't create a group, because I hadn't been a member long enough.

It's a period of 90 days and 500 posts, for groups.

Isn't that counter productive?
I've never understood that loophole. Lol.

So it takes 500 posts to be able to have the privilege to create groups. And the reasons we don't have them lower is because if people made groups constantly, there would be duplicates and there would be a massive amount of groups empty or duplicated groups which would look like shit. Throughout post count there are different promotions and that's one of them :P

Since we're playing bold. (;
It also takes 0 posts to have the privilege to request a group be made, handed to you, and then leave VT; never adding members. =Empty group owned by a new member. ;_; What good does it do to be able to pass a group when the group has as much potential to grow and flourish as any other group created by a newer member?

That way there's more to look forward to 500 posts ;) But hey, if you have someone make it for you, that's fine, we just don't want everyone to have that ability :P as VT is a larger forum :P Lot's of new people joining and we want to make sure we keep an eye on everything :) including groups. So it's better to earn the privilege to make a group then it to be given and a lot of groups made. It wouldn't look good.

You can't get control of the group until you meet the requirements.

You have to have near or above 500+ posts to be able to make a group.
