View Full Version : So we had a baby

My girlfriend wanted one so we left off the condom. We now have a boy. It has changed everything. Wonder. Guilt. Fear. Responsibility. I don't encourage this until much later.
So without any stories, has anyone else gotten a girl pregnant?
If so, how did you feel about it?
What did you do (keep, adopt, abort)?
One word answers: How has it affected you?

Teen pregnancy is so sky high now-a-days its ridicilious.
I mean, there are 12 and 13 year olds at a local elementary school here, making 'pregnancy packets' because they want to have children! Whaaaa!?!? That just boggels my mind! Its one thing if your mentally mature enough to handle children, but THAT young? Your body isent even prepared for childbirth, let alone done with puberty. Not to mention newborns can cost an average of $7,000 for the first year. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. I highly doubt a 13 year old can afford that expense.
No, I haven`t had a child. The thought of it dosen`t scare me to much to be honest. I`ve raised 3 neices and a nephew, so I`m pretty child-savvy. Not to mention my fiance is in the airforce, so if I were to have a child, we would be okay financially.
I just don`t plan to have one untill I`m done with college.
We both want children. He`d like me to have them by 24, but I won`t be out of college till about 26.
Even though we are in a situation where if we had a child, we would be alright, I still take many precautions to prevent pregnancy. I have Implanon (birth control that is implanted into the arm) and we still use condoms.
No kids for me, atleast not anytime soon =]

Teen pregnancy has actually declined.
Most definitely not in my area. (Southern Louisiana)
Even at my school, on average would see two pregnant students a year.
A school of 500 students.
In total this year, there are 9 pregnant students. That are visibly pregnant.

I highly doubt it, man. How old are you? What made you or her decide to have a baby? Why are you wasting your teenage years taking care of a baby?

Noes.
You shouldn't get a baby this early. Fix school and stuff first ffs!
And a job with a stable income, so you can afford all that's needed.
Plus, teenage relationships often end pretty soon, so don't do it.
A girl in my class is pregnant. She was pregnant about a year ago too, but then she did abort.
This time she's going to keep it, and her arguement was something like "I hated the abort, it's much easier if I just keep it.
And what the hell. I feel sorry for the baby. Her mum can't even control herself (she's running 'round hitting people every other day). Plus it'll have to live at a kindergarden or something the first couple of years, cause she's still in 9th grade. She has at least 3 years left in school. If she don't skip senior high school. But then she won't have a future or a job. (You can jump off school as soon as you turn 16 in Sweden, but if you don't get your whole education, it's pretty much impossible getting a job).
Btw, OP, how old are you?

I have a 7 month old boy and it's hard just scheduling work so that someone will be home for him, daycare is expensive. I think you were kinda foolish, maybe you should have tried getting a puppy instead?
I hope both of you are able to finish school and are able to provide for everything that little boy needs, it's not his fault you two had him to early.
So without any stories, has anyone else gotten a girl pregnant?
-I got pregnant.
If so, how did you feel about it?
-Scared, worried, excited.
What did you do (keep, adopt, abort)?
-Kept him.
One word answers: How has it affected you?
-It's impossible to have a one word answer for this one. I'm pretty mature to begin with but I feel more mature because now I just don't look after myself but a child too. I'm happy being a mother but it's not all rainbows and butterflies all the time, there's times where my fiance and I go at it because of him. There's alot of sleepless nights and alot of frustrating moments. But overall, I'm happy, for me it's all worth it when he wakes up in the morning with a huge smile on his face.

I feel for you.
You cant change it now, its too late. You have helped create a little life, you need to step up and be a father to it. Don't give up on it or leave it, be a good dad. You made a decision that you now regret, but I think that you should be the best dad you can be, and push on and help your son through everything. You might regret or have second thoughts about it now but, the girl you made love too, dont leave her as a single mum!
You might have all of these feelings hun but, this just might be due to, you have woken up to the reality of your actions. Dont turn your back just because you dont feel up to it. Push on, be strong.
