Hew in New Orleans We recently had a tragic fire in which 8 homeless persons and a dog perished. It was soon discovered that the young people were not traditional homeless, what is commonly refereed to as gutter punks. Youth that wander aimlessly around the country hopping freight trains hitch hiking and what have you and staying in abandoned buildings.the fire resulted from them building a fire in a barrel to keep warm. Most have families they return to from time to time until the itch to roam overtakes them again and they hit the road. In an interview one young man said "we have our on community. We smell like we do because it's how we keep others away from us. They stay in one city for a few months, then hop a freight train to another city. This is a big problem in New Orleans because of the lure of our music culture. Since the pepper has run multiple tear jerky stories about them. Now any death is tragic, but come on hear! Call it what it is! These ADULTS are leaches on our society! Everything they need comes from those of us that work for a living. They depend on roads and trains society builds, panhandle from working folks and sponge off of food banks which as a result have less for those with lagit needs. One article mentioned how they pooled the funds from the day's panhandling and were trying to decide between spending it on cheap wine or cheap whiskey! Another told of how one woman would go home to her mom and daughter until the itch got her again and off she would go! Want to bet WIC pays for food that child eats? Then this crazy homeless advocacy group has the gaul to say someone should build these leaches a special shelter since they won't stay in a conventional shelter! Well it's good that they don't! Cause then they would just take a bed from someone with a lagit need! Imagine how many would come to New Orleans if it got out we built them a HOTEL! GET A JOB LIKE I'VE HAD SINCE I WAS 12!!!!!!!!(cutting grass)

Do you know why those poeple are homeless? Probably because of people like you, who think that its their own fault their poor. But if you totally believe in getting a job is going to solve everything, then I urge you to look into how hard it is to get a job right now. I spent 9 months looking for a job, when I had a good history of work in kitchens. But no. This whole epidemic of poor people is due to the governments taxations, the large banks and the cost of living. All of which a everyday person has no control over...

OK I need to make it clear. These people all have homes they go back to every few months, mooching off mama stay a while then jump a freight train to the next city. They are not traditional homeless. They never stay in one place more than a few months. They have an active network of like minded persons who shre were the best dives are. Are you going to defend the lady who has a kid she leaves with her mama while she rides the rails??? Are you gong to defend how they pool the panhandled money to buy booz! These are the ones that take resources form the other homeless so they can wander the country. By their own admittion to the reporters they don't want jobs since that cramps their style. New Orleans is not intrested in supporting people who's only intrest is to dro[p in a couple of months, absorb the culture, crash in an abandoned warehouse, panhandle, get waisted, then hop a freight train somewhere else to do the same thing.

Yes, god forbid someone survives in this world by unconventional means.

Yes, god forbid someone survives in this world by unconventional means.
Those unconventional means consume resources that could otherwise be used to help that homeless vet whose PTSD pushes him away from the very help that is available to him.

Deal with it. You're not legally required to have a job or a home.
