ok well about 2 weeks ago a friend kicked the locker room door shut on my finger and tore it up kinda badly....
now its almost healed but theres this kind of weird numbness around it like i can sorta feel if i push hard on it but not too much
and on the other side if i touch a certain area i have this weird tingling throughout the entire finger to the opposite side where the middle of the cut was

sounds like nerve damage
but i'm FAR from being a doctor
if your worried about it
then book an appointment
and go see your family doctor
tell him what happened, how long its takin to heal and what it feels like now

Eeek, yes. Sounds like some nasty nerve damage. But don't keep pushing it till you can feel it, go and see your doc! Hope all gets better :D

See your doctor. He/She will know what to do.

Very sorry to revive a thread, but I was changing tires on one of our family cars, and dropped the Air Socket wrench on my right thumb, and it weighed about 10 pounds, and when I tripped, it flew up in the air, and smashed down on my thumb. I split the top half of the bone in my thumb in half, and my nail fell out, and took 3 months to regrow. And, what really sucked is that I'm right handed. So, I had a big splint over my thumb for about 3 months, and I had trouble writing, AND on top of that, had 2 major projects due, both of which were to be handwritten only. Sometimes, My thumb will get a little weird, it may numb for a few minutes, then return to normal, or it will hurt for a few minutes and return to normal, and sometimes it "pops" a million times, making it feel a little weird.

My first thought was possible nerve/ligament damage. See your doctor. :P

Eww, yuck for both of you! Tingling, numbness is a sign of peripheral nerve damage. Whenever you cut yourself kinda deeply, there's a chance this will happen. Good news, though. These nerves usually regrow (although it can take awhile), and you should be as good as new. Until then, be careful to remember that eventhough you might not feel anything there, you can still injure yourself if you are not extra careful.
