Hi, I just wanted to know if it is normal for me at 14 to be eating all the time, it seems I'm always hungry. I'm worried about becoming over weight and any tips or advice is appreciated.

It's okay to eat a lot as long as you don't gain weight. That means your body is using most of what you take in. Granted, you should eat well (you'll get more out of orange juice than soda). Also, you run a greater risk of gaining weight if you eat junk foods.

Everybody is different so some may have a bigger problem keeping the weight off.

During puberty/adolescence, our bodies are growing. That means we need more food to power that growth - our metabolism skyrockets and we are able to use burn the fats/carbs/calories rather than store them as fat and gain weight. So, it is normal to need more food during your teen years.

This won't happen forever. I'm not sure when it stops, I'm only 17. But, in order to continue being able to eat more and not gain weight, live a more active lifestyle. Work out, do cardio, be a busy person. You will use that energy throughout the day rather than keeping it with you as fat.
Hope this helps.

Yeah dude it's ok. I'm 13 but I fell into the grip of junk food so I had to start to wrestle to get rid of te extra weight. Salads, yogurt, water, low fat stuff is practically my diet now. You can eat a lot just make sure it is
Healthy.

It is normal. Infact when you dont eat much is when you can develop problems. During puberty your body undergoes a lot of growth. Not only in bones and muscles for height, but your shoulders get wider and your muscle mass increases, sometimes very rapidly. For this your body needs lots of protein, so it is important to eat foods containing proteins. Don't listen to people that say low-fat, no sugar. If you keep active they should only be a problem in large amounts. Eat red-meat around 3 times a week because that is a fantastic source of protein. I googled high protein foods and it returned; eggs, milk, spinach, soybean, quinoa, meat, fish, whole grains, rice, beans, legumes, corn, oats, peas.

Also foods that contain high protein amounts make you feel 'full' quicker and for longer so you dont have to eat as much.
