Normally, in a game for example, when someone who is at the left of you shoots, you would hear the sound from the left speaker.
When something exploded on the right, you would hear them from the right speaker.

There is something wrong with my new speakers.
Not only I hear sounds from any speaker, sometimes I hear the gunshots or explosions that happen like 100 meters away from me. I hear the slightest of sounds and I constantly have to turn left and right and find nothing because it gives the sounds wrong ( forgive my tech-lacking english )

So what should I do?

Check they are plugged in properly as wierd things can happen if the jack isn't all the way in.

I've had things like this but its usually been cured by rebooting and stuff (sound card gets messed up I think).

If your hearing sounds that you wouldn't normal hear, doesn't this simply mean your new speakers are better as they pick up more distinctive levels of sound?

I think he's saying that there isn't a noticalbe range in distance and direction of sounds which could be the sound card environment settings or something like that I suppose.

But it is a con, and you shouldn't be hearing a silenced pistol sound 50 meters away.

And others, how can I fix this problem?

Not a con, but how the developers intended the game to sound. If it wasn't meant to be there no speakers could pick this up at all.

Have you got a surround card? have you got the speakers in the right place for stereo? Does your sound card know you only have 2 speakers connected? Does the game? It could be you've got them in the wrong socket (eg centre speaker).

There are like 8 sockets so I just changed their places until I heard sounds from both of them

Right well this could be your problem then. If your card can do surround sound, certain sounds will be sent to certain speakers. You need to find the manual for your sound card or maybe you have a control panel application or something that will tell you what you got plugged in where. You may have to change software settings to turn some of the channels on or off. Some cards auto-detect and depending on what you plugged in where and in what order, it could have configured itself wrong too.

Hope that helps.

Usually, the port for plugging in a normal pair of speakers is colored green, if that helps, because since there are 8 audio ports, that means that your computer was meant to support up to a 7.1 surround sound system, and you probably have your speakers plugged into one of the surround ports, so yeah, look for the green port if they're colored, and if so, plug in, and hopefully enjoy normal sound!

Man I thought that would help but it is already plugged into the green part...

(Assuming you have a 2 speaker audio system) Make sure your computer is set to produce 2 channel audio.

(Assuming you have Vista/7)
Right click on the audio icon on the taskbar, and click on "Playback Devices". Right click the device labeled "Default Device" (It should have a green checkmark next to it), then click on "Configure speakers". Make sure "Stereo" is selected, then click "Test" to make sure you hear sounds out of both of your speakers. If the sounds come out the wrong speaker (Graphic shows sound coming out of right, but sound is coming out of your left), or you don't hear any sound at all, try switching around which port you have it plugged into, until it sounds right.

The sound came from the left when the right side was giving light in test.
Instead of changing the cable's position, I put my left speaker to right and vice versa.
Thanks all, thans xbox360922
