This is fucking insanity. I mean, really. They're fucking asshole bigots to even let loose such cruelty upon me. It's horrid, JUST LOOK:

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1103566577.png (http://www.speedtest.net)

It's even half the amount I have paid my subscription for. IT GETS WORSE IN PEAK HOURS (0.7-0.10 Kb/s). I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE CONVOLUTING MY FACTIOUS DESIRE FOR A NICER INTERNET.

They're assholes alright. I don't care if they have to cap their services, just MAKE IT AT LEAST EQUITABLE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. On the other side, they also tricked us into sucking their intangible cock. Yes, my mother didn't know the horrors when she first inquired about this. DOWNLOAD SPEEDS ARE HORRID AND I CAN'T EVEN FINISH THE WHOLE SHIT TACO WITHOUT RESTARTING THE MODEM AT LEAST 5-10 TIMES.

Although I can easily complain, it's paired with equally bad Costumer Relations. I get the same fucking response every time:

Dear Mr. Santos,

We received your concern regarding slow connection on September 20, 2010.

We can see on your screen shot that you are experiencing a slow connection. Upon checking on your account the reason why you are experiencing a slow connection is that you already maximized your allocation. This will refreshed on your next billing cycle.

Thank you for asking us to help. We hope this is useful to you and will help enhance your online experience.

Yours always,
wi-tribe

LIKE FUCKING HELL, WE JUST PAID OUR BILLS A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO

That's not all. Oh no. They know it in case I break down into a rant. They have a lock-in subscription. LIKE HELL, I'M SORRY WI-TRIBE, YOU ARE PISSING ON ME WITH YOUR UNPROFESSIONAL INCREDULITY.

/rant

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is 4G?

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what is 4G?

4G. It's a new kind of internet service as the successor of 3G. It promises impossibly high speeds while at the same time ripping off consumers.

For more information, just look here (http://www.intomobile.com/2010/03/24/4g-in-america-lies-lies-and-more-damn-lies/).

Why wouldn't you research on the unreliability of the 4G service before hand?

It was my mother who signed, without my consent. She barely knows it, and got blinded by its snakey brokers. So tell me, how do I fucking cancel my subscription while in a lock-in period?

I wouldn't know the answer to that considering how I have a shitty blue flip phone, and I don't handle my contract, my mother does. This may be better suited in TJP, though.

It's for my computer, and it's pissing me off, considering that I am a heavy internet user and a *ahem* Pirate.

What's TJP?

Yes, it's sort of a vent, but you're also asking for help on cancelling a subscription that has to deal with technology.

This isn't my section to moderate either, so I can't. I'll report it so it can be moved, though.

Meh, right now 4G is nothing more than a gimmick, as it's only in few, tiny areas, for example, the provider's main office, but still, that's stupid, and one could get a faster connection with dialup(possibly).

Mostly. I can't believe we fell for it.

Tbh they should work on making the older stuff (3G etc) universally accessible before creating new networks...like upping the damn speed of BB in the countryside!

You can cancel almost any contract with an ISP. In the US, usually, to cancel a contract costs around $200, depending on how long you've been a customer, and how long you still have left on the contract.

As far as the 4G speed issue, that's pretty typical.
While yes, 4G is capable of very high bandwidth to each device, that bandwidth needs to first be available to the system, BEFORE it can be given to the customer(s).
Wireless carries have absolutely NO need to go beyond 3G LTE right now. 3G LTE is MORE than capable of handeling the amount of bandwidth currently available to the towers, and probably will be more than capable of doing so, for many, many years to come.
Most people that currently have 3G service (Or even 4G service for that matter) are being served speeds that even the EDGE service would be able to handle.
The only reason 4G is a selling point, is because it's new. People tend to like new things. EDGE is ancient, and 3G is old news. No one likes to buy old.

Anywho, yes, you should be able to get out of your contract, for a price. (Sorry for going somewhat off topic :P)

You have no idea what you just said, do you?
He's not using a phone service, he's using a cellular internet service.
Also, a router is a networking device, it's used to connect one or more devices to the internet, some other service, or just together.
Ethernet is a connection type. Just like Coaxial is a connection type, as is RCA, S-Video, ect.

Although I must insist, I feel very stupid regarding our current internet connection. I just want to go back to my boring, and at least stable, DSL connection, but I couldn't.
