Its not only exercise you've gotta keep steady its also your diet. Try upping your protein and lowering the sugar content and start off with the exercise slowly. When you say get in shape what do you mean. Bulk up, lose weight or just generally get a bit fitter?

Alright, Yeah, up the protein, start with steady amounts of exercise. Start with light weights and build them up as you go, don't bite off more than you can chew because you can cause a fair bit of damage. I don't know nor want to tell you how much to start with because really only you know what your body is capable of. But start for 15 minutes twice a day and then up it to half hour twice a day etc. Join a gym, and try to eat sensibly. You'll need to keep a steady amount of sugar intake if you're going to be doing more exercise than usual but don't over do it.

you are already doing good by running. One big thing you have to know is start out small then work your way up. start out with what you body can handle. (ex. 10lbs dumbels)

What I say to do is first find your max, ex start out small and do one rep of what ever excersise... then go up 10 pounds until you found the max weight you can handle. then divide that in half or by 75% wherever you feel you are ready to be at

My advice is make your exercise a habit, part of your routine. That way you don't make up excuses to yourself not to do it.
Its really easy to get keen and then take on too much, get injured or tired out and stop enjoying it, so if you find you've done that, dont feel bad about dropping a session or whatever. In a few months time you can probably add a bit more. EG I heard where boxers do 6 hours a day hard training 6 days a week - no way most people who keep fit could even do that for one day, but if they built up to it they could.

What we do for football training every morning is kind of what canadianeric94 said. We first found out our max weight for all the exercises we do (bench, squat, front squat, lunches, step ups, strait leg dead lift, etc.) and track all that down). after you find your max out weights and you track that down, you find the workout that best fits you. Im pretty strong and fit (not self-absorbed or anything but I've been weight-lifting since summer of 8th grade year and im a junior) and what i do is on mondays you do upperbody workout that do not include dunbells, tuesday you do a lower body workout that uses no dumbbells (all barbells), and on Wednesday you do upper body but with dumbbells, and the same thing for Thursday.. lower body with dumbbells. the rest of the week is rest. anyways getting back on subject. with your max weight and your workout, you do a six week program. you start off small by doing 60% of your max and you do 3 sets of 10 reps of all your exercises for your first week. and every week after that go up about maybe 10 lbs to that 60% for every exercise..after your sixth week, take that 7th week to find your new max weights. and start over with the 60% of your max weights, 6week plan. Sorry to go on and on but I am really into physical fitness and i could write a book if i had time but if you are really serious about getting bigger and fit and strong you should consider my workout. PM me if you want some serious tips.
