i was just talking to my bf for like a half hour because well he was going to have a talk with her tonight after work (she was giving him his $300 for rent back that he shouldn't have given her in the first place) but anyways, he was also gonna talk to her about accepting me and letting him grow up (as in stop treating him like a kid.)..and be independant....
I mean we have a planned future together and are going to move in together, then marry, and have kids and I told him i'm worried that she hasn't let him go because of ya know us planning to become parents in a few years....like 3 years.

and I was telling him like how will he be a good father if his mom wont let him go and be independant like a grown man.

He is 24 years old (25 in March). and i'm 19.

his mom is so so so attached it worries me, I want us to have a good life together and I just sit and worry about it sometimes.

well she ended up canceling tonight because it was late and she had to work late.

he wanted to go over to her house and get the money and talk but she said no.

I mean he did mention that she raised him pretty much alone for about half his life (child hood) and that she's overprotective and stuff...but how far does this excuse really go?

We've been together almost a year and have been serious the entire time (we started planning a future around 3 months). and its like she hasn't made any effort to let him go...:(

and I mean she resently said that we gave promise rings and said we love each other too soon...and I think that's unfair because who is she to tell us when we love each other? seriously?

I think she might just be really clingy, also, she might be afraid her baby boy (who is 24) is going to get hurt in this realationship, I think she is just looking out for him. Again with the overprotective, it's because she want's him happy and doesnt want him to be hurt. She is just looking out for him and is being a good mum. Bless her. Good luck.
