From the site: "A source within the industry who has previously leaked other information when I was writing for Xboxic (leaks include confirming Black Op's March 2010, Naming Kinect before E3 May 2010, First Gears 3 Images April 2010, amongst others) has informed me that an upcoming Call of Duty title from Infinity Ward will not be created on an all new game engine, and will not be released this year under the title of Modern Warfare 3!
It has been alleged that Infinity Ward are creating a game that will focus on the character Ghost who first appeared in Modern Warfare 2, this game will centre around the events leading up to the war in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as a prequel, and then further reveal how Ghost first became a member of Task Force 141 based on the comic book stories written by David Lapham. In various parts of the game that will focus on the life of Ghost - players will revisit locations from both Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, but this time from a different viewpoint.
Although entirely a rumour - the game is meant to be in development on the Modern Warfare 2 engine. Robert Bowling (Infinity Ward's Community Manager) was contacted, but has neither confirmed or denied the rumours."
I nearly pissed my pants in my nerdy little excitement. Gotta go tell all of muh friends. Since it's entirely just a rumor, I still question this. Lots of people do start little rumors to get people excited, and then nothing happens.

and will not be released this year under the title of Modern Warfare 3
Who said it would be released this year under the title of MW3?
There was a guy here who said it would be an MMO. For me, the guy lied to hell and this post makes no sense at all too. People just create rumors to keep the gaming industry alive.
They also said it was leaked information when they told us it would be TESV: Alinor but now we know it is TESV: Skyrim
Plus, if they create the new game on MW2 engine, people won't like it.
And haven't you heard, IW is no more. Since West and Zampella and other handy stuff left ( half of them are now working in EA, West and Zampella founded the company Respawn Entertainment ) IW is in ruins and they can't do a shit without those two guys.

The reason that it WILL be made is that the PC gaming community, taking into consideration the MMO players its much larger than people who play on consoles. The MMO will have the same size servers as WoW. around 450,000
There will be one map. world sized and in order to get around the world you have to choose before you start where you wish to be deployed and what side, Axis or Allies.
This title isnt going to be the next in the COD series it will run along side it. Hence the money system introduced by treyarch. The game will be real time.
I can garuntee you now this will cost around the same price as WoW to play a month.
Blizzard (Creator of WoW) and Activision are now the same company, Acti-Blizzard hence why COD will no dount be released as an MMO due to both companies being greedy for money. £30 game plus £10 a month?
yeah that racks up. The idea is sound, it can be done. I idea behind it is sound, money money money.
If they didnt make this, then they would be stupid and ill be happy to apologise to you princeofmadness but this is a business oppurtunity they will not miss.

There is a very thin line between sarcasm and bad English.
You haven't told me Activison and Blizzard have merged, now MMO seems something possible.
And well if Blizzard plans to make a CoDMMO, I hope they know that it wouldn't even be 1/10 of WoW.
In WoW, you could be almost anything. What can you be more than a rifleman in CoDMMO?
In WoW, you go raiding dungeons. Are you going to raid axis supply depots?

Im assuming missions will be added in by the Devs
so like, an objective is given to the Allies and then an objective is given to the axis to stop the allies

Are you guys aware of the lawsuit going on between Respawn Entertainment (Old Infinity Ward) and Activision? If Respawn Entertainment wins the lawsuit, then the Modern Warfare domain name will be theirs. They can't release it as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" but they can call it Modern Warfare 3. As long as Respawn wins the lawsuit over the name, then I'm pretty sure that we don't have to worry about it becoming an MMO...
Besides, an MMO would be shit, and it's NOT what the community is asking for...

My opinion: Black Ops was, yet again, a poorly designed game at the hands of Treyarch. I'm more excited to see another Modern Warfare from Respawn Entertainment since Treyarch can't stop failing.

I'm sorry but if you leave graphics for one moment, treyarch owns İW. They dont have multiplayer Bugs and they always try to do something diffrent and they always succeed

The only reason there are multiplayer bugs in Modern Warfare 2 is simply because there isn't a company that can work on creating patches for it. Respawn Entertainment and Activision are currently battling for the rights to Modern Warfare 2, thus making the patching process into nothing. If one company works on a patch, the other bitches that they are messing with "Their" game. Treyarch hasn't had any problems because Activision is enjoying the money supply that Black Ops is bringing in. If Respawn Entertainment wins the lawsuit, not only will they have millions to fund the next Call of Duty, but EVERYONE previously working for Infinity Ward will move on with Respawn. And Activision faces the possibility of Electronic Arts becoming bigger and better.

1. The lawsuit has already been settled, Respawn has the rights to the Modern Warfare name.
2. an MMO IS what the PC community want.
3. The MMO will NOT be part of the series but more of a run along the side of the series kinda game.
4. The MMO will not have modern warfare in the name at all and it will be developed by Blizzard.
a MMO would be shit, on a console.
