How about a new forum for books. Like...favorite books, recently read books, books you dislike, books that are being turned into movies.

Wrong.

Read the announcement in The Art Room:

This is the forum to release your creativity! Show your interests in different forms of art.

In "Artwork" show off original creations, and even your favorite pieces from other artists.
In "The Open Book" talk about written pieces. It can be something you're writing, a request for advice, or talk about published literature.
"Photography" is the forum where you can show off your artistic photos.
Anything else that is - artsy? Post it in "Other Works".



This suggestion crops up from time to time, I raised it once myself, the answer has always been that there isnt enough demand and that The Open Book is the place for that.
