A Waste??

My friends make fun of me every time we drink at a party or whatever because if I leave my drink when I come back I have to get a new one because I'm that worried someone slipped something in my drink......is that a waste or the right thing to do?

It all depends on how comfortable you are with the people around you. If you're all good friends and trust each other I see no reason to be worried. It's only a waste if you think it is. Maybe relax a little but watch out for yourself.

Don't be paranoid, that's a waste. At clubs it can be a good idea if you're a really hot chick, but at some friend's house party as a teenage guy? No need. Unless there's some creepy ass people there who you think are actually likely to drug you.

Why set the drink down? You can dance with a drink, go to the bathroom and set the drink on the counter. If you're that worried, then don't let it leave your sight.

Yeah, that's a waste. I don't know how old you are, but if you're in high school you have very little to worry about. Even more so because you're a guy. You don't get psychos that drug girls' drinks in high school, much less guys' drinks.

Now, college might be a little different, or if you were at a club. Just see who's at the party. If there's weird people you don't know, then don't leave your drink around. Still, I think because you're a guy it's much less likely to happen...so stop worrying about it!

Yeah, other than my brother slipping stuff in my drink (don't ask lol), I've never heard of something like that happening to anyone I know. I do know of tons of people that have done drugs willingly and ended up in situations they regretted and a few of them being guys that considered it kinda like getting roofied, as if it was the other person's plan, but yeah...

People might take advantage of the state you're in or try to get you to do more so you can be taken advantage of, but you just have to be a bit assertive usually and it shouldn't be so much of an issue... I've been sorta pushed into situations before cause I'm not assertive enough, but it's always been my own fault in the end imo and never stuff seriously forced on me. I guess I've also pulled a guy off a chick once because she was too wasted and didn't seem to be enjoying it, but it wasn't cause of a roofie lol.

Unless you're with some people that really don't like you (pranks and whatnot) or with some older people that you don't know, I wouldn't worry about it. You should have friends around or at least somewhat decent people that wouldn't let anything happen to you anyway. Getting roofied is something I've never even really thought about...
