Am I the only that is absolutely in love with this car? Jeez, I can't get enough RX-8.

I hate the RX-8 although it does deliver high power for a small engine. That's only beacause of the wankel rotary engine which also means it uses a hell of alot of oil and terrible fuel consumption.

It looks so nice with the its clam doors.. but its no RX, they shouldnt have called it that at all it just doesnt have what it takes to be called that.

And yeah like what Nik94 said its engine just guzzles gas and oil, and tbh it produces a lot of power but not nearly enough considering their engines that were close to a decade old were producing roughly the same power, so idk what their engineers did, but apparently not enough haha

That's why you only buy one if you have a lot of money. If you have money, then doing every upgrade possible is worth it so you can squeeze every last bit of possible performance out of the car. I.E. aerodynamics, turbo, weight reduction, etc.

Thats sorta true, but they way the car is priced (Nissan 370z area) it makes no sense.


And it still doesn't change the fact that the RX-8 is not a worthy RX. The Rx-7 produced super car performance, stock and at a very affordable price.

Yeah thats another problem, wankel rotary engines arent the most reliable, they cost a lot to repair and maintain because of how rare and unique their technology is.

Lol i guess im the only one against the RX-8.... the styling is cool, and really like the RX-8 R3, but the cars technology is ancient and needs to be replaced fast if they are planning on owning the sports car market again, but ive heard the next RX-7 is coming out with 300+ hp, an entirely new wankel rotary engine, and its going to be a proper 2 seater sports car.... sooo i'm going to continue hating this generation until the next one come along haha

No, you're not the only one. I don't like them either. The body looks cool, but for the price, it's just not worth it. I mean really? 200 horsepower, and an extremely unreliable and gas/oil guzzling engine, for the price they ask, is totally NOT worth it. If they can come out with an efficient, decently powerful, more reliable rotary engine that you don't have to worry about rotor tips wearing out in a somewhat more affordable car with good handling and better overall capabilities, then I'll like the RX series, but until then? Nope, not gonna happen.

See this is my beef with the RX8. Its a high revving engine that produces no torque. Its also around the same price as it was in 2004, and they haven't changed much from a power or looks standpoint. Back then it was 350z fast which was ok, but now that the 370z came out whats the point. Plus it gets awful gas mileage and the fact is a 10 year old 7 series can still take one off the line for 20k less! Just buy a Subaru WRX if you MUST go Japanese. But thats just my opinion lol

It isn't a bad car, but as stated, doesn't really have torque. My friend used to owned an '04 (I think) and I got to drive it a few times. Once you were moving around 30 mph, then it started to take off quickly. The one thing I didn't care for too much was the single peice conter console that went to the back seats. Maybe because I wasn't used to it, but I didn't like it much.
